I have written before about safety and what to do about protection.
A friend told me I was over the top! "Do you know what the chances really are of needing to carry."
Well, he just called me the other night..."Bill, where did you go to get your conceal and carry permit...I need one fast!"
My friend is a plumber in an area not know for violent crimes. But when he went into a vacant house to do some work for the new owners...He heard come commotion in the basement. He yelled down and heard people going out the basement door.
3 guys were running fast. So fast they left behind a lot of stuff. Including 3 handguns and over $10,000 in drugs (Per the cops).
All he could think of is that the ending could have been a lot worse.
I told him that I would tell him where to get his permit...IF...he also signed up for classes on using a gun. (He agreed)
I have been called crazy and an over re-actor to this safety thing, but I know 3 people in the last year that have run into a situation where having protection may have helped.
AGAIN...I am not saying everyone needs to get out and buy a gun...just if you are going to carry any protection, mace or whatever....Learn how to use it!!!!!

That is what my thermometer says and it isn't in the sun either.
We had 14-16 inches of wet snow about 9-10 days ago and today it is running down the driveway.
It has been a strange year. Some say global warming. Some say climate change. What I know for sure is that it is warm and I am getting some early spring work done.
Oh and as far as my wife's snow man her and my grand daughter built last week...

I have always tried to do what is right. I have tried to reach out to those who need a bit of help when I am able, so when I was walking down the street a bit behind for my appointment and I saw one of those unfortunate homeless vagabonds I felt the urge to help.
Wearing what I can only describe as rags and carrying all the worldly possessions in 2 plastic bags, my heart was touched by this person's desperate condition.
Some people stood and stared and others turned away quickly as if the site would somehow contaminate them.
I then recalled some of my Sunday School teachings to 'Care for the Sick, Feed the Hungry and Clothe the Naked', I was deeply moved by the urge to reach out to the poor person.
Yes, many people saw only rags, but I saw an inner beauty and an inner voice said...REACH OUT!...REACH OUT!
So I did!

I don't think I will make it to church Sunday and Blogging will be a bit hard!

Looking for a home In North Branch, Minnesota. It does not have to be a drag...Call me and we will have fun looking.

Not long ago, I had a client that needed to do a repair before the close of his property.
It was not a major fix, but still it was not a simple job either. I gave him several numbers of people who could do the work.
I checked back in a week to find the repair done. I then asked..."Who in the "H" did you have do this?" I said in a not so calm voice. (I was going to drop them off my list.)
"Well, I did it myself." He said. "They told me at Home Depot there was nothing to it."
I told him that his patch job was not going to pass. He did admit it was a harder job and it did not turn out like he wanted. He then called one of the guys I referred him to.
DIY is great if you know how. But just hearing about how to do something does not make the job look right.

Organic Farming in Minnesota is on the rise just like in many parts of the country.
I am also seeing a rise in what some are calling Semi-Organic. Raising of produce and animals Organically, but the farm has not been certified Organic.
Organic Farming is growing in popularity. I personally raise my Garden Organically.
The biggest challenge to Organic Farming is finding land that is qualified to be certified Organic.
I have a 60 acre parcel that has about 45 acres tillable. It has not been farmed in over 10 years, and with land prices for farms going up recently, now is a good time to get in on the ground floor.
Organic farms need to be all natural for 10+ years before they can be considered to be certified, 'Organic'.
Looking to start or expand your Organic Farm...Call me today! you won't be sorry.
