The first quarter of 2009, 36.1 percent of new listings and 58.8 percent o closed sales were lender mediated.

Lender mediated sales have increased 147.4 percent in the last year, while traditional sales have fallen by 41.2 percent.

The number of lender mediated properties for sale dropped by more than 1,200 units from Feb 1 to April of 2009.

This is after 4 years of growth. The decline is very impressive considering that the spring market typically sees an increase in the number of homes for sale.

The growth in lender –mediated market share places a heavy downward weight on sales prices-figures that the housing market in its entirety . We are going to see massive declines in value.
