The wind is blowing in from the South and the trees are starting to leaf out. Flowers are starting to show alongside the roads. Instead of snow, we get rain for weather changes, ah ha, life is sweet this time of year. March madness is going on in the Ozarks too, especially in Branson and Hollister.
A couple of days ago we met some of my cousins who were vacationing in Branson, she won a bunch of show tickets at work, and eating at the buffet were three young men that were very tall. I asked them who they were playing ball for and they said Washington. College of the Ozarks is hosting the NCAA Division II Tournament right now so the average height of folks in Branson has gone up considerably.
Besides the local entertainment getting started back into full swing, there is always fishing, and Table Rock Lake is hosting another FLW Bass Tournament that just started and includes walleye too. Weather here should warm up to close to 40 today and tomorrow and that means you are a serious fisher-person to compete here! I went out a couple times last week when the weather was around 70 degrees and was perfectly fine in that weather.

The White Bass have started upstream already and I was able to catch a few small ones, but nothing of eating size. Galena will be the host of their 2nd Annual White Bass Tournament this year on March 21st, which happens to also be when I turn the big 60. What a day that should be, I plan on being on the water, chasing those White Bass, and you?

A total of 10 single family homes sold in Stone County according to our local MLS report for last month. They were priced starting at $132,500 and topping out at $591,000. Seven of these homes sold for over $200,000 so you can see that they are not foreclosures but new homes and resales. This signals the start of our new selling season is off to a great spring forward!
There were also other types of homes and land sales in the county last month and all that and more information is available by request.
One of the typical questions I get is: "How is the market in the Table Rock Lake area and is it a good time to buy?" Reading the articles from various well-known nationally recognized experts for buyers can give you, sometimes what seems like, conflicting information. I do not claim to be an "expert" because I have heard the definition of an ex is a has-been and a spurt as a drip-under-pressure and I am certainly not either.
Honestly, I have to give my opinion regarding our local market as: it depends upon your particular circumstances more than any other factor as to when a good time to buy is. If you would like to go over your situation and get an honest evaluation of whether you are in the right "timing" or not, I will be glad to help. You can call me direct (417) 350-9743 or if you just want to see what is going on in the market today Search Listings Here

Our daughter's best friend was allowed to work here to help her raise support for her upcoming mission trip to Nicaragua and so we went to support such a worthy cause. Talk about pleasant surprises, we found great food, fun atmosphere and local friendliness that is hard to find at Sugar Tree BAR-B-Q.
Supporting local fund raisers is not unique to this family business either as they are the ones who provided the support for the local polar bear plunge benefitting the Special Olympics a couple weeks ago.
This portable cooker was built by oldest brother Greg 20 years ago and his son Thomas is the chief cook and bottle washer for the family business that is truly so friendly they make you feel like family too.
Steve Davenport is the owner who loves to cook and his family from Tennessee are celebrity connected trophy winning Barbeque Kings from way back. Humble as they are they speak with pride as they tell of the contests they won with their Dad and the events they catered for stars like Jerry Lee Lewis and others.
Naturally, because they have a normal southern sense of humor their most obvious feature is the security camera mounted over the old wood stove that keeps the place warm in the winter months.
Smoked turkeys and hams are regular fare and in the summer you better put your order in for week-end ribs early in the week or you will usuallly miss out as everybody around from Branson to Galena in the Table Rock Lake area knows this is where to go for world-class BBQ!
