Brookside's St. Patrick's Day Warm Up Parade is 10 March 2012. The parade starts at 2pm but get there early if you want to park within a half mile of the parade!
The parade route goes from Meyer Blvd, up Brookside Blvd, east on 63rd Street, south on Main, and west on Meyer Blvd. Any seat is a good one - bring a lawn chair. Wear green. ♫
The Brooksider Bar & Grill, between Commerce Bank and the Blue Grotto on the
map above, will be packed by noon as will
Michael Forbes, Hooper's, and all the other bars and restaurants in Brookside. If you need to go to the grocery store or post office, the roads will be blocked off at 1pm. Brookside's parade is child friendly, stroller friendly, and dog friendly.
The Snake Saturday Parade starts at 14th & Swift, to Armour, to Howell to 18th. The Snake Saturday Parade in North Kansas City starts at 11am so, theoretically, you could go to the Snake Parade first and then to the Brookside Warm Up Parade. Snake parade friendly but after party a bit rowdy for young children.
And don't forget the parade in Lawrence! The 5K Run/Walk Shamrock Shuffle starts at 8am, parade at 1pm, Queen Coronation Dinner on Sunday - it's a whole weekend thing! - only a 50 minute drive from KC!
