The building of Bagnell Dam and Lake of the Ozarks brought people to the area and created a solid economic base during the time of the Great Depression. Today, the economy continues to do well along the historic Bagnell Dam Strip. With so much to do and see along "The Strip", locals and visitors alike continue to flock to the area.
At the entrance to the strip a giant Indian stands with an upraised arm. He is one of the notorious "muffler men" created in the 1960's for various gas station chains. Made entirely of fiberglass, this chief once held a giant muffler as advertisement for the services of his particular station. He now stands guard at the entrance to Bagnell Dam Strip, welcoming guests to the fun and entertainment that awaits.
Currently there are 95 stores along The Strip selling clothing, shoes, swimwear, fireworks, and handmade items. There are gifts and souvenirs galore. If you are here for a visit and left something at home - don't worry, we have it!
Following a morning of shopping, you might find you are a little hungry. The Strip has all kinds of food for all sorts of tastes! Whether you want to grab something on the run from a carnival type kiosk or you prefer to sit down in a classy restaurant, you will find it here. And oh! Oh! Oh! ..... the Fudge and Ice Cream! You can't leave without having some!
With the shopping done and the meal finished, it will be time for a bit of entertainment. The Strip has that too! Bumper Cars, Batting Cages, Climbing Walls, Parasailing, Bungee Jumping, Boat Rentals, Cable Cars, Miniature Golf, and 10¢ Skeeball - yes, you can still have fun for under a buck -- at the Bagnell Dam Strip! We guarantee you won't be bored here.
The perfect end to a fun and full day might just be attending a great country music show. Some of the best country music plays at Lake of the Ozarks. Three Oprys have provided great entertainment for more than 5 decades. In addition, there is an awesome fireworks display every Saturday night at dusk down by the dam.
Many visitors come to play but find they want to stay. The beautiful countryside and friendly towns and communities have much to offer. If you are one of those folks feeling drawn to our neck of the woods, we would like to offer our services.

Whether you see golf as the ideal vacation pastime or as part of your lifestyle, one of the great allurements of Lake of the Ozarks is golf. Sporting more than 13 golf courses, Lake of the Ozarks has become known as the golf mecca of the Midwest. Championship courses have been cut into the rocks, hills and wooded areas to provide a challenge for golfers at every skill level.
Bay View's 9-hole, hilly course provides a unique experience for a reasonable rate. Other courses, such as Bear Creek Valley, meander through the forests, meadows and valleys of Lake of the Ozarks country. The Hidden Lakes Golf Course at Tan-Tar-A Resort was ranked by USA Today as one of the best 9-hole courses in the US. The resort also provides a marina and an indoor waterpark - providing fun for the entire family. In 1992, professional golfer Arnold Palmer designed the Osage National Golf Resort. An additional 9 holes have been added to the original 18 that Palmer designed. This gives the golfer a choice of three 18-hole combinations to choose from. Currently,Osage National is running an offer for a FREE Round of Golf!
The densely wooded, rolling hills of Laurie - once populated by the Osage Indians, offers a scenic 18-hole course at very reasonable rates. Indian Rock Golf Club covers more than 300 acres interspersed with 200 beautiful home sites. As golfers come to play, many choose to stay. Lake Real Estate Pros proudly specializes in the communities of Lake Ozark, Osage Beach, Four Seasons, The Villages, Porta Cima, and Camdenton and serves the entire Lake Ozark area of Missouri. Our agency and our founder, Lisa Elliott, have won many awards but we keep our focus on the client. It is not hard to sell our area, so we endeavor to always match our client with the home in the Lake of the Ozarks region that suits their season of life. People love it here!
Though our area is home to a broad spectrum of people, many who settle here seek second (or third) homes, or perhaps rent out their property for much of the year while savoring a few weeks at the Lake with their families. Most first timers to our market start by renting a condominium on the lake; once they fall in love with this wonderful place, they buy a home or condo and make this their second home choice.
The market we sell in is a resort market and second home market. We are providing luxury homes to a very narrow section of the market in one of the most beautiful places on earth. We sell what we know and love - an area of great beauty, wonderful boating, and golf galore that beckons people who want a change of pace from their normal life when they seek an additional home. We consider what we sell to be "luxury homes" but the resort and luxury market does not always start with a million dollar property, In fact,
most first timers to our market start with a renting a condominium on the lake; once they fall in love with this wonderful place, they buy a home or condo and make this their second home choice.
The houses here are amazing. We have everything from condominiums that have a fabulous view of the lake to the most breathtaking multi-million dollar homes. You get the grandeur of the property with half the price tag of Los Angeles and none of the crime.
Lake Ozarks is wonderfully inviting to families seeking fun on the water and adults seeking non-stop golf and nightlife. We host events from major national fishing tournaments throughout the year, the OSS offshore boat races, antique car shows, to Harley Davidson bike events that make your time here a wonderful adventure. And do we ever have GOLF, GOLF, GOLF - the only Signature Jack Nicholas golf course in the state of Missouri, as well as a 27-hole Arnold Palmer course that is breathtaking in beauty. That is only a small part of the fun things to do here!

Osage National Golf Resort, the Willmore Lodge, Bagnell Dam
Bait Shop and Tom Sawyer Cruises to Host Live Eagle Viewings

This past weekend, Jan. 9th and 10th, you would have found me with my binoculars out at the 10th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Eagle Days. From 9 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, and again on Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM hundreds of visitors braved the cold at Lake Ozarks in a celebration of wild eagles.
At the Osage National Golf Resort there were be hourly eagle programs by the World Bird Sanctuary, as well as vendor booths, eagle viewing and eagle nest activities.
Closer to the dam area there was eagle viewing at Bagnell Dam Bait Shop and at the Bagnell Dam Access.
On down the road a bit, at Willmore Lodge were craft and vendor booths in addition to wild eagle viewing.
I've been trying to go to this event for the past 4 years, and something (work, generally) has come up to prevent it. I was delighted to have made it this time. Seeing several eagles nesting in trees together was definitely worth the cold toes!
