Yesterday my grandson Lane woke me up and said that his mom had left a note for me. She had dropped him and his sister off at our house on her way to work (No I didn't hear them come in b/c it was not my normal day to watch the kids)
Any way he handed me a note that said:
I read it out loud and looked at Lane (age 6) He then handed me a zip-lock bag with a test strip in it. The strip had TWO PINK LINES!
I then turned the "note" over and on the back it said,
I asked Lane if he knew what this all meant and he said NO- I said your mom will tell you later (I didn't know if they had told the kids yet)
I text Kelly to say congrats and that I will LOVE THEM. She wrote back "THEM"?
I said of course there were TWO LINES!!! (She didn't think that was funny)-
I'm going to be a grandma- doing the happy dance-
She is the best(est) Daughter-in-law ever.
Different story- When Kelly told me about their last one (Karlee now 2 1/2 yrs) She started by saying "Well it looks like Mike won the bet"
I asked what bet and she said: "The one where he said I bet you are pregnant"
One more not about any of my grands- good friend at church had a couple of daughters ready to deliver around the same time. She came to church one Sunday and when asked how the girls were doing she said Daughter #1 is dilated to a 5 she should have the baby any time now.
I said: "Wow, my girls never would let me check them!"
I will settle down now and go look for baby material to start some receiving blankets, I only have till spring.
On an industry related note- when you are looking for a broker to assist you in finding the right home for your family, give me a call- I love working with families with young rug-rats! (I will work with the grandma's too)- what a great day! cw

The Lawrence County Record is the weekly voice of Lawrence County, Missouri.
Every Wednesday, we all open up the Record to see what's going on. From editorials on national and regional issues, to front-page spreads about local events, to an annual back-to-school issue, and right down to who is having their 90th birthday party, they keep us informed.
Adding to their 134-year print tradition, they now have a website and e-Edition. This is pretty exciting stuff. The Record staff seem to have made a big effort to build a site that's not just a newspaper, but a community information portal. The site looks professional, is easy to navigate, and loads fast.
On the public website, you'll find:
- Some of the stories from the paper. There also seem to be stories from days when the paper isn't published, so it's not just once-a-week updates.
- Ads for local businesses. Just taking a quick look at these is interesting. Go ahead and click a few ads. Click the one for the Lawrence County Historical Museum, for instance. Cool info behind there.
- A very informative Community section. It's still in its first stages but is already pretty nice. There are some great pictures, history and present-day info. Right now, it's focused on Mt. Vernon. That's very understandable, but I'm hoping they might branch out a bit in the future to cover other towns in the county. This is wonderful information for people considering relocating to Southwest Missouri.
- Local events and calendars.
- And more...who knows what will be there tomorrow?
The e-Edition, which is the full paper, is subscriber only (only $1 additional to those who are already paying the paltry sum of $23 per year to have the Record delivered to their house). I'll be signing up, of course.
I'm so happy to have this website as a resource for myself as well as relocation real estate buyers who'd like to find out more about Southwest Missouri. In the past, I've actually mailed a few copies of the Record to prospects. Glad I don't have to do that anymore. Nice job, guys!

For some reason I just love this shot! I have heard it said that a picture is worth a thousand words. A photo and 50 words are worth 200 points. I assisted an investor in his purchase of the lot for this beauty. I also handled the listing and worked with the buyer when it sold a couple of months later.
I have been asked to help find an investor to move another small house in Mt Vernon, MO. If you are curious as to what is involved give me a call. - cw 417-366-0057

This years theme for the CLUB CHAOS EYE CANDY CONTEST is Winter! No problem, I have plenty of time to get some great shots to share with my readers and show off my lovely part of our great state of Missouri.
Biggest problem I ran into is I am a procrastinator when it comes to taking time to have a bit of creative fun. I also am finding out that I tend to like to tweak the rules a bit. When Carolyn sent me a notice that today was the last day to submit to the contest I knew I had to stop what I was working on and get my winter pictures posted! short version of the RULES are 5 photos and 100 words.
Ben-----Andrew------hurrry with the dishes so you can vacuum, clean your playroom, rotate the laundry, start lunch and..... then get dressed and run out and do something cute so I can take a picture!
Yeah right Grandma- you want us to drop our favorite chores and play outside- don't think so!!
Doesn't look like the boys are going to help me find any great winter shots to show off especially b/c today is trying to decide if it wants to be rainy.
NUTSEY... Have you got a minute to help me shoot some eye candy in MO?
Sorry...CW you're on your own- it is not near cold enough in your part of the state for me drop what I am doing (translated from squirrel for the convenience of the readers)
Favorite Oldest son- can you give me a hand for a minute- I need a couple of 'winter pictures"
*MOM - I love you so much and I hate to ever let you down ....have you have been outside? This is not what most people would consider wintry)... Ask Karlee. *(edited for literary license---I made that up)

Most wonderful grand-daughter- please help your granny find a winter-photo to share with my readers so I can enter a contest.
Grandma- you can take a picture of my quilt!

Somehow I don't think the family is taking me serious about this. Where am I going to find a place to take traditional winter pictures when our temperatures are barely even considered fall. I only have a short amount of time to get this entry together if I hope to participate in the contest. PLEASE..... I need snow!!!
Finally...... here is the best WINTER PHOTO I can produce.... it has it all....even a snowman......and the best daughter-in-law ever for taking time to pose with our son.

See the short sleeves--- Maybe for the spring contest I can have the weather man schedule a nice late snow. Missouri really does have four seasons. We just don't get much advanced notice as to when they are going to show up. Sometime we get several on the same day. Stay tuned.....
