Wildwood MO Happenings: St. Louis Home Fires BBQ Event

Saturday September 26th 2009, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sunday, September 27th, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Location: Town Center Plaza 221 Plaza Drive Wildwood, MO (in front of the Wildwood Hotel) Located just west of Clarkson on Highway 100 or just east of Highway 109 on Highway 100.

Please come out to the Home Fires BBQ Bash Competition. The event will feature approximately 110 BBQ teams competing in eight (8) categories (chef's choice, pork steak, chicken, dessert, ribs, pork, chili, & brisket). This event is open to the public. Most of the teams will be selling their products. Tasty food items, besides BBQ, will be available. Also featured entertainment, vendor booths, and inflatables for the kids. This event is family friendly.

Railroad Days...Pacific, Missouri

Come out to lovely Pacific Missouri and enjoy Railroad Days on September 26, 2009. The fun begins at 11 a.m. and goes until 7 p.m. The activities will be taking place at the Pacific Station Plaza. The plaza is located on South First Street just across the railroad tracks in downtown Pacific. A variety of vendors will be selling food and other items. A live band will be on stage to entertain the people. It should be a fun time.

The Great Forest Park Balloon Race is TODAY September 19, 2009

Come join the crowds to celebrate the 20th birthday of the Energizer Bunny in St. Louis' own Forest Park. The Purina Children's Entertainment area will be filled with fun activities for kids including pony rides, games, etc.. Local artists will take the stage to provide entertainment on the main stage. The public will have the opportunity to enter the balloon field and snap photos of their favorite balloons. The best photographs will garner prizes so be sure to enter the contest. There will be performances by the Sky Diving Team. They are set to land in the middle of the launch field.

The Energizer Bunny Hot "Hare" Balloon will start the race by taking off weather permitting at 4:30 p.m.. The 70 "hound" balloons will then take off in pursuit of the Bunny. The birdseed baggie dropped closest to the Energizer Bunny Balloon will be the winner.

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. This event requires much walking.
