Short History lesson on Halloween from the Gulf Coast
As a young girl, my family went trick or treating on Halloween, and always had
a good time with my parents collecting candy going form door to door in our community.
My two boys had their share of dressing up and going from house to house for a few years as children. Then due to a hand full of some evil people our children's safety was compromised. We had to find a new approach to the Halloween celebration.
My grandchildren still get to enjoy the Halloween celebrations, within the safety of the church and close community functions.
Our children could care less about the History behind Halloween, all they know is that it involves dressing up in costumes, getting candy, and enjoying fun & games. Halloweenhas evolved years and the superstition and beliefs surroundings the holiday has been transformed into the modern day celebration of fall festivals and home parties.
Being a realist and advocate I had to re-searching the history of Halloween.
****The ancient Celtics believed Halloween was a day the DEAD can return to earth, therefore they would light bonfires, and wear costumes to ward off these roaming ghost. Halloween also known as "All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day."

All Souls' Day commemorates the faithful departed, and All Saints Day first dates back to the Western Christianity around May 13, 609 or 610..
Happy Halloween enjoy and be safe.
