Meadow Oaks in Senatobia MS

Meadow Oaks is a beautiful neighborhood located off Highway 51 at the south end of Senatobia MS. This subdivision is known for its large lots and well kept homes.

Meadow Oaks in Senatobia MS is a small to medium size neighborhood of approximately 60 lots. The development started about 15 years ago but most of the homes are less than 10 years old. There were many different builders who built homes in this Senatobia MS neighborhood, so there is a variety of home styles.

There is only one area where you can experience golf course living in Senatobia MS. It is Back Acres Country Club. Back Acres Country Club is the name of the golf course and also the name of the neighborhood.

Back Acres golf course is a private regulation length 18 hole golf course that was built in the 1960s. It has a par of 72 and a yardage of 6511. This course was desgined by James Gabbert and John Darah.

Senatobia MS is the county seat for Tate County MS and is located about 30 minutes south of Memphis TN along Interstate 55. Approximately 7,000 call Senatobia MS home.

A large portion of the homes at Back Acres subdivision were also built in the 1960s and 1970s. There are a few newer homes tucked into this golf course neighborhood in Senatobia MS. The Back Acres Country Club subdivision is a large development (approximately 190 lots) when compared with other Senatobia MS area subdivsions.

Just a short five mile drive east from the town of Senatobia MS is a neighborhood of new homes with acreage. Rolling Oaks is a small development of less than 30 lots at the corner of Gravel Springs and Yellow Dog Rd. in Senatobia MS. Yes...that's Yellow Dog Rd. Not sure about the story behind that name. I like to think that maybe someone who lived on that road many years ago had a loyal 4-legged companion, perhaps a Lab or Golden Retriver.

Senatobia MS is the county seat of Tate County MS. Even though Rolling Oaks is not in the city limits, it has the Senatobia MS zip code of 38668. The population of Tate County is just over 27,000.

Rolling Oaks is located right down the street from Chapel in the Pines Wedding Chapel.

This development of new homes with acreage in Senatobia MS has two homes available for sale right now. Some of the amenities include: wood floors, granite counters in the kitchen, crown molding, covered patios, and spacious master suites.

There are also several lots available on which to build your own custom home. The lots sizes in Rolling Oaks generally run around 5 acres. Rolling Oaks does have restrictive covenants which set the minimum square footage at 1,800 sqare feet.

This subdivision of new homes with acreage is in a country setting, but is only 10 minutes from Wal-mart. Sit back on your covered patio at night and hear the crickets chirping. If you listen real close, you may even hear a cow mooing in the distance.

Senatobia MS Neighborhood Parks

In addition to the wonderful state parks in Northwest MS like Arkabutla, Sardis (a/k/a John Kyle) and Enid, we also have some great neighborhood parks. Senatobia MS in Tate County is no exception. The town may be small, but there are 3 city parks.

Gabbert Park is located right behind the library and is the site of the annual Tate County Relay for Life. There is a replica of the railroad depot which is used as a bandstand during park events. There is a paved walking trail, multiple benches and lots of shade trees.

Norfleet Park on Norfleet Drive has been around for a while. It is the only Senatobia MS park with playground equipment. It also has a paved walking trail which is used quite regularly by residents on their lunch break or after dinner.

The other park is near the railroad tracks beside Park Street. I honestly dont' know if this park has a name. I think it is called City Park. The Master Gardener association made this park a project a couple of years ago and now it is frequented by those looking for a nice, quiet place for lunch or just to "sit a spell".

If you visit any one of these parks on a weekday around lunchtime, you are bound to see lots of residents enjoying their lunch, getting a little exercise or just a break from the office walls.
