Snowbanks everywhere! Is it affecting the real estate market?

The last few years we've had some low snowfall winters. Listing and showing properties was relatively hassle free as far as snowbanks. Not this year. Five, six, seven, eight foot banks of snow pushed up by armies of street plows have buried lawn signs. Streets and driveways in some subdivisions are canyons with high white sides.

Well the numbers are in and sales are down for the first time in years.

Is it the sign of a developing trend or is it only this snowy winter covering the for sale signs?

Windows, roofing, flooring, cabinetry, are all new. New home prices tend to set the price ceiling and used properties usually sell for less than similar new ones.

Moncton's HubCap Comedy Festival

Moncton's annual (8th year eh?) HubCap Comedy Festival is on again for February 2008.

The program begins with CBC’s Open-Mic Amateur Comedian Contest at Yuk Yuk’s on Wednesday February 6th.

Four hilarious days later it wraps up a Saturday evening (and even into the wee hours of Sunday morning) filled with comedy and comedians at multiple venues.

The festival is guaranteed cure for cabin fever or a hangover from Groundhog day!
