As we continue into Summer and our typical booming sales season things just keep getting better and better! Wow, we are sooo lucky in Fredericton, the city of Stately Elms. What a real estate haven!

Now for the facts. Our listings are averaging only a -3% drop and have been quite consistantly throughout the year. We should expect the same average drop for the rest of the year.

Sales in units has increased year over year from a -15% in April to a -13% for May. This should improve more as we move into June. Our dollar volume of sales has improved substantially year over year from -12% in April to only a -7% in May. That is almost a 50% increase in sales from month to month. The activity now is unprecedented in a global market now in a recession. The real irony is that June even expects to be better.

Housing has become everyones dream and just about eveyone imployed seems to be motivated to aquire that dream. As real estate agents lets help them achieve!

When you're traveling in eastern Canada, it's not always easy to find a good place to eat that doesn't just serve greasy fare. It seems that French fries and deep fried delicacies are the norm here. If you want to have a really good fine dining experience you should know about this quaint little restaurant that's located in an old passenger train car.... FRESH.

Located in Bristol, just north of Florenceville, on the beautiful Saint John River scenic drive, Shogomoc Railway is easy to miss. This historic site showcases a restored 1914 CPR train station with a gift shop, railway artifacts and visitor information. One of the 3 CPR cars has been renovated as a fine dining restaurant.

Sara Caines is the genius behind this establishment, and she strives to bring different flavors to the region. All dishes are made from absolutely fresh ingredients, and each offering is mouth-watering. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal. Don't pass up this chance for a really good meal in a quaint spot.

Today I composed my Canada Day Metro Moncton Real Estate Market Report, hung out the flag, did a little weeding in my front perennial patch, and made appointments to show a couple of houses tomorrow.

Now a lot of people in the greater Moncton area are hoping the clouds that have blocked the sun all day won't release any rain tonight to spoil the fireworks . The highlight of my Canada Day will be going to an outdoor performance by a local rock 'n' rolk group at 7:30 this evening- The GTO Band . Video to follow.
