6. The Beaufort Waterfront - One of my favorite things to do is walk the Beaufort Waterfront. The great thing about the Beaufort Waterfront is you can walk depending upon where you are staying, come by car, or come by boat. There are a variety of shops, restaurants, and night life establisments with live local entertainment or maybe even someone visiting.
There are several festivals found on the Beaufort Waterfront depending upon the season, The Beaufort Music Festival, Pirate Invason, Art Festival and more (check the local calendars).

Walking and looking at the boats is so much fun. Hanging out on the docks talking to the transient travelers.

Another must see if you are in the area, just come check out the Crystal Coast.

Ok, sorry to get that song stuck in yur head but stay with me a moment....
The NC Wildlife Resource Commission and the town have come to a resolution regarding cutting or saving the aged old oaks at the public boat launch on Taylors Creek, along the west end of Front Street Beaufort NC.
This debate which has gone back and forth for many months has settled with what I consider a fair compromise.
Work is underway for improving the site allowing for more manuverable space at the launch site and addressing storm water management. Local reports covered the story which was fueled from both sides of this environmental issue.
In the end 9 of 14 old oaks were saved, and today as I drove by to observe the progress of the site I witnessed the yellow ribbons that marked the protected trees.
The Tony Orlando song instantly entered my mind and now , several hours later... well, it is still there !
