Delayed News of Tornado in Raleigh Disrupts the Lives of Many
Today was to be a day filled with anticipation, wonder, suspense and the unknown. After corresponding with a client for over a year, arrangements were made to meet at 9:00 am for the first time. Appointments were made on Saturday for showings scheduled for today at eleven different condos and homes. Many were occupied and needed notice due to the showings scheduled through out the day.
Listing agents were notified as well as sellers of the condos and homes we were scheduled to show. Some of the listings agents called to say, "Bring Me An Offer" or "Please don't let the cat out". Some agents sent an email thanking us for scheduling a showing and wished us luck.
We called our client to say good morning but she didn't answer her cell phone. Hmm?? We called the condo where she was staying with her sister and no one answered. Hmm?? We called her home phone number because by this point we felt concerned. Messages were left on her cell and at her home numbers. We drove to where our client was staying and knocked on the door of the condo. Hmm?? No answer. We went to the registration desk and found out she had checked out early this morning. Hmm??
Concerned, we called her cell phone and home number again, leaving messages. A few minutes later Frank's cell phone rang. It was our client calling. She was on the road headed to her sister's house in Raleigh. Apparently her sister's son stopped by her house and found the roof had been destroyed during the tornado on Saturday.
Many lives were disrupted due to the devastating news our client's sister found out early this morning. Many people had lived through the devastation and were picking up the pieces on Sunday. Our client was driving back this morning to help her sister pick up her pieces, never expecting something like this to happen. Our last email correspondence was, "I can hardly wait, see you Monday Morning at 9am"
Phone calls were made to cancel appointments with explanations. Listing agents expressed their disappointment and mentioned the inconvenience that had occurred to some of the sellers who left their homes for the scheduled showings.
No one can plan for a natural disaster ~ but many lives become disrupted from them without ever expecting it.
We won't deny the fact that we were disappointed that we didn't get to meet our client ~ but we were deeply saddened to hear our client's news of her sister's damage to her home.

Is it going to be a good year for us in 2011? Seems like I have been working harder than ever trying to maintain a level of business that allows me to succeed and grow my business in 2011. I find that it is harder and harder to obtain and maintain my market share in the County. I think that I am understanding that it is going to be very much like the last half of 2010. That is ok with me....I did most of my business then. If you are having the same problem, please share with me your ideas on how we can move forth in getting our share and more.
With warm regards,
Ginger Harper

Brunswick Plantation residents will be hosting their annual crafts show this fall from 9 - 2 Saturday, October 23, in the Brunswick House in Calabash. If you are planning a trip to the Carolina Beaches, you will enjoy touring this beautiful golf community and attending the craft show. Each year the show attracts a wider and wider audience of those seeking unusual handmade gift items. Last year's offerings were quilted and embroidered items, needlepoint, wreaths and other Christmas ornaments, jewelry, baskets, wooden bowls, note cards, pottery, and many, many other types of homemade treasures. Neighbors in Service will be on hand to sell baked goods. Much of the profit goes to support local charities and nonprofit organizations.

Brunswick Plantation Golf Community is a scenic community that has high visibility from highway 17. It is not only one of our most popular golf courses but the community resales are strong. This gated property is located in Calabash, NC just minutes from the South Carolina line. When guests turn into the main drive, they are greeted by very friendly but protective security guards which really adds to the exclusivity of the community. Four other golf communities are just minutes from each other...Carolina Shores, Farmstead, Meadowlands, and Crow Creek. Brunswick Plantation ranks in the top 50 golf courses. Property owners are very diverse. Condos range from low 100,000s to just shy of $300,000 at current time. Lots are just below $100,000 to $325,000. Custom homes are upper $200,000 to just below $500,000. Taxes are low and homeowner fees are reasonable. The community is divided into sections according to building regulations and costs. In some areas, owners can buy a lot and build their own home while in other areas you buy the lot and you can choose from several plans to be built by onsite builder. Almost any time of day, you will see walkers, joggers, and of course golfers during the day. I am including a picture of the clubhouse which also serves as a restaurant/bar and golfer check-in center. Brunswick Plantation Clubhouse hosts many private parties and weddings. There is a homeowners' center with pools, etc.
