It’s no secret that I really love the personal side of real estate relationships. There’s no doubt that some days are better than others and today was one of those really good days.
Sure, the weather was flawless and our “color season” is stunning. And yeah, I am very fortunate to work in real estate in this amazing area. But today was better for a different reason.
You know how it goes with new clients. There can be weeks, sometimes months of phone conversations and emails long before you ever get to meet someone in person. Even if you are pretty sure the chemistry will be there…you never know for certain until you share some physical space.
For several weeks now I’ve had very enjoyable and intriguing exchanges with this couple by phone and email. The phone conversations were occasionally punctuated by ear piercing Macaw and Parrot caws. A couple of times I was out on the deck taking the call and actually saw passersby jerk their heads around at the sound over my cell phone! You can imagine my curiosity was piqued when these new clients announced they would be traveling with the parrots from Colorado to Western North Carolina to look at property.
I know Sheila Newton from Greenville, SC is starting to smile while reading this since she has lots of experience with these magnificent birds but I’m a novice and didn’t know what to expect.
The whole experience was nothing short of awesome. The chemistry was definitely there and that was apparent immediately. The parrots were incredible. Being able to travel today with them helped make sense of their sounds. The range of sounds was astounding. My guess is that their vocabulary eclipses our own. It is no longer noise to me, it’s obviously an ancient language that I feel privileged to have witnessed.
Of course, I had the camera with me. The little girl parrot was not as much of an extrovert as the boy, Frisco. So the photos are of him. I hope you all will enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them. Do me a favor…name your three favorites in your comments. I might create some sort of collage with them for their human guardians.
So, for those of you who also love the really personal side of real estate relationships…celebrate with me that it was one of those really good days!
