Moving from out of state to Charlotte NC? Don't wait to the last minute, start your search early for Charlotte NC homes for sale. Buying a home can be very stressful, but also very rewarding. What is the reason for your home purchase? If you are buying a home purely for investment, make sure you do your due diligence. Renting a home out can bring additional income. But for most folks, they want a nice place to live and raise their family.

There are many websites where you can learn about the areas. The most relevant factor for most people is location. Everybody wants to be close to something. How far you live from work and how long it takes you to get there are factors to evaluate when picking a location to live. For those concerned about the cost of their daily commute, mileage will be a high priority. Traffic and roads are pretty good here in Charlotte making driving easier.

Basically you have two options, owning or renting. If you anticipate living in the Charlotte NC area for any length of time, buying may be right for you. Most homes are appreciating assets and gain in value in a normal market. Renters do not have the luxury of writing off a portion of their monthly payments like home owners do.

Compared to used homes, new homes have many advantages. Lower maintenance cost on new homes means that there is more money in your budget for other things. A one year warranty on materials and workmanship is typical for most builders. New home building techniques and materials make them much more energy efficient compared to used homes. On average, new homes are about 700 sqft bigger than homes built in the 1980's. Building your home affords you the opportunity to get the things you want in your house.

There are a lot of great things to do in the Charlotte area. The Livine Museum of the New South showcases a history of southern society from post civil war to present. Root on our footbal team, the Carolina Panthers, at Bank of America Stadium. Sit under the stars and watch an outdoor concert at Verison Ampitheater. If you and your family like the great outdoors, you will love living here. Play golf or get out on Lake Norman and go water skiing.

From a financial standpoint, buying a home will probably be one of the major decisions that you will ever make. Going through the home buying process can be stressful, it is highly recommended that you seek the assistance of a licensed professional. A buyers' agent has fiduciary responsibility to you, the buyer, not the seller. Navigating the home buying process can be complicated. Always get your own real estate agent. A real estate professional can help you... from your home search , to contract, to closing.

Allen Tate Southpark Office

Brandon Farmer: Real Estate Agent in Charlotte, NC

Allen Tate Southpark Office

As you may have noticed the old Allen Tate Southpark office has been removed and the land flattened. The plans for the lot are not completely set but we are hearing that there will be a hotel built. The Allen Tate Company has been in the new corporate building for about 8 years. The building is located at 6700 Fairview Road, is part of Phillip's Place and is noticeable by large size and its' green roof. The second floor of the building houses over 100 agents and assistants and the third floor is devoted to Allen Tate Corporate. This is where you will find the relocation, accounting and marketing departments. Also the third floor includes Allen Tate's office.

Allen Tate Southpark

The first floor of our office is filled with boutique shops and Cafe Monte French Bakery and Bistro. The fourth floor of the office has been sold as condominiums.

There is also a lot of new construction being built directly behind our office. There is a large condo building being built and there will be several condos available for rent and an assisted living facility.

Come Into the Park, Charlotte Symphony Springtime Fundraiser

Donna Johnston: Real Estate Agent in Charlotte, NC

Gabrielle Shain is at it again ~ doing what she and her Shain Gallery on Selwyn Avenue in Myers Park do best! Come Into the Park is an opportunity to support the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, dine and dance and to view new works by two nationally recognized artists. I know this will be an awesome event and an chance to see (watch how fast they sell) new works from Kim Schuessler and Geoffrey Johnson who are two of the countries most original, up and coming artists! Kim and Geoff went to art school together, are good friends and delightful people ~ getting to know the artist makes the art so much more memorable! Their works adorn many of Charlotte’s finest homes. Every time I look at the piece Geoffrey did for our wedding I think of the day I met my good friend in France. (story below)

If you are not familiar with their work you will be amazed, while Kim and Geoffrey’s styles are very different, their art genuinely reflects the way they see the world around them. At first you might think Kim’s work playful and Geoff’s brooding that would be a mistake ~ look closer to see that Geoff’s ethereal work is all about the light and Kim’s figures have a deeper meaning and backstory. Kim and Geoff are not siblings but their art is what you might expect from a brother and sister, not the same, independent but somehow deeply connected. It is a joy to meet them and to see their work!

So Geoff and me in France…two weeks after 9/11 Rhonda and I off to France for a Connie Winter’s artist workshop - one week, fifteen women, unlimited wine, french countryside, Geoff and me. Upon meeting Geoffrey in the Marseilles airport we immediately grabbed a beer, became fast friends and set out together to maintain some semblance of “manliness” for the week. Not to fear, this incredible group of smart, funny, talented women took us under their wing — put it this way we learned about a lot more than just painting! Anyway we became good friends and Rhonda and I have become not only huge fans of Geoff’s work but of the person!

So I hope you will join us for Come Into the Park at the Symphony Park band shell (and don’t forget the Summer Concert Series there later in June!) in Southpark on May 14 more information click here. And when you’re in Myers Park please check out the Shain Gallery, one of Charlotte’s best ~ be sure to check out Connie Winter’s work, her son Darren Young’s and of course Kim and Geoff’s too. Say hello to Gabrielle if art is your thing then you want to know Gabrielle!
