About Charlotte's Touchstone

Charlotte NC's Four Mile Creek Greenway extends from Johnston Rd just north of I-485 to Rea Rd at Bevington Place (across from the Shops at Piper Glen).

A peaceful oasis of winding trails through natural areas with a mature canopy of trees make this south Charlotte greenway a beautiful way to get outdoors and enjoy some fresh air. 

When I'm not doing neighborhood running this is by far my favorite place to get out and run.  It's gorgeous scenery and the boardwalk sections are lower impact than pavement :)

It's 1.8 miles from the Johnston Rd parking area to the Shops at Piper Glen where you can take a break to relax and enjoy coffee at Starbucks or grab a snack from the Great Harvest Bread Company. 

The Four Mile Creek greenway passes behind Charlotte's Touchstone neighborhood and the path is relatively flat, including paved and boardwalk sections.  There are also benches along the greenway if you want to stop and enjoy the surroundings.

Making your way along the greenway you'll be joined by walkers, runners, cyclists and many people choose to take their dogs along the route too. 

Charlotte's Four Mile Creek greenway is just one part of this southern Charlotte greenway system.  

From the Johnston Rd entrance, Four Mile Creek connects to the Lower McAlpine Creek greenway and finally to the McMullen Creek greenway which extends all the way to Hwy 51 (Pineville Matthews Rd) so the possibilities for exploring or planning a fitness route are endless.  In all, this greenway includes 5.8 miles of pathways.
