WOW! Where did the summer go? According to the Davie County School's calendar its over, because the first day of the 2011-2012 school year is August 25th! The tax free weekend has come and gone, the back to school sales are in full bloom, and fall is on the way.

As a former school teacher I know that the short time between now and the first day of school is precious. Ask most any school aged child and they can tell you the next couple of weeks will fly by! It seems like summer should be a long break, but it always seems to end too quickly!

The Davie County School's calendar does have some relief in sight however! After only seven school days back there is a three day weekend! Of course we cannot neglect the glorious fall break that will begin on October 26th with an early release day into a four day break.

The good news for parents is that the children will be back in school soon! Many kids are excited about going back but are often wanting it to be over after just a few weeks, longing for summer yet again.
