Black Lab Found on Covered Bridge Road in Archer Lodge.

I was driving on Covered Bridge Rd yesterday October 13th 2009 around lunch time when I spotted this beautiful dog dragging a chain about eight feet long behind him. He was darting across the road and forcing cars to slow down.

I was able to get him in my car and took him to the SPCA in Clayton. He is about a year old and seems well taken care of.

This is a no kill shelter and they will keep him until the owner is found or he is adopted. He was wearing an orange collar with no name.

Edenton Subdivision, Clayton NC, Market Update.

Edenton Subdivision on Buffalo Road on the outskirts of Clayton has some beautiful large wooded lots, the homes range in size from about 1550 sq ft up to about 2400 sq ft.

Prices range from the low $170's to about the mid $250's, from April 2009 to October 2009 there have been five homes sold a high of $230,000 and a low of $182,900, the average price per square foot was $96. The average days on market was 141.

The Subdivision was started in approx 2000 and there are still some new (2009) construction available.There are no home owners dues.

The schools currently used by families in the neighborhood include River Dell Elementary,Archer Lodge Middle and Clayton High School (these schools may change as the school district is adding more schools)

As of today according to the Triangle MLS there are seven homes listed ranging in price from $169,500 for a 1571 sq ft two story built in 2000, to a 2400 sq ft house listed for $259,900 built in 2003.

Edenton is an easy drive to Raleigh, Smithfield, Shopping, numerous golf courses. It is approx forty minutes to Raleigh Durham International Airport.

The major employers in the area are Caterpillar, Talecris, Johnston Health and Johnston County Schools. Research Triangle Park, home to many of the top Technology, and Pharmaceutical companies is about 45 minutes away.

Riverwood Athletic Club Subdivision in Clayton NC is one of the larger subdivisions in Clayton. It is located about ten minutes from downtown. It is a planned community in that it has an elementary and middle school, shops, fitness center, swimming pool,creative learning center all within the subdivision.

The community has multiple housing options from townhomes to estate waterfront homes. Prices start at just over $100,000 and go up to $500,000. There is a full fitness center in Riverwood with a very active swim club. There is a sister subdivision called Riverwood Golf which is about ten minutes away and this golf course is available for members of the athletic club.

Riverwood is in Clayton's 27527 zip code which was just voted in the top ten in the country for having the best schools with the most affordable housing by BusinessWeek magazine. Riverwood Elementary and Riverwood Middle both relativly new schools are within walking distance for anyone living in Riverwood.

Riverwood is located with easy access to the Hyw 64 Bypass which provides access to major routes into Raleigh, Research Triangle Park and Raleigh Durham International Airport.
