Stylist Elise Boren, of 1511 Salon in Franklin NC, has been busy. On January 14th, she colored, cut, and styled several local models for the first in a series of photo shoots for online portfolios for herself and other artists in the beauty industry. The images will illustrate the many facets of this stylist’s career and her view: "Hair is the ultimate accessory".

Elise has local clients who she works with at 1511 Salon right here in Franklin, NC. She is on the national artistic team for Joico and ISO hair product companies, traveling and training stylists on the latest color and cut techniques and trends. Elise runs an education company, Innovative Education, offering classes for stylists in the region.

Since May of last year, Elise has been working on the set of the upcoming movie, Hunger Games, creating the hair color on the cast and stunt doubles. December found Elise auditioning in New York, by request of one of the top colorists in the world, Beth Minardi, to be part of her Elite Color Team. Up next, Elise and her team will be again be collaborating with photographer Ashley Elders, at 1511 Salon on March 17th. The vision for the day: a Vintage Vibe with a modern day spin.

Waterfalls in Franklin, NC

Reasons I love living in Franklin, NC| Waterfalls | Mountains | Peace & Serenity

Some of the reasons I love living in Franklin, NC are the beautiful Waterfalls, the Mountains and of course the Peace and Serenity.

I was traveling up Wayah Rd. in the Nantahala Mountains the last week and had to stop and take a picture of this waterfall. In Franklin’s tourist season months I wouldn’t have been able to see this or even stop to take a picture. Wayah Rd. is well traveled by Motor Vehicles as well as Motorcyclist. This is one of our favorite Motorcycle rides when we take the bikes out.

The Peace & Serenity I get is taking a few minutes to stop, look and listen to the water flowing down the Mountains is almost indescribable. It instantly puts me in a great mood and as I drive off I have a smile from ear to ear. You need to experience it by yourself and you’ll know what I am talking about.

When I am on a Mountain looking out it’s like meditation for me. All my thoughts about what is happening in my life, business and family are not clouding my gratitude for this wonderful life I have here in Franklin, NC.

Today I’ll be painting pictures for our buyers as we look at houses all day. You see, the beautiful sunny and warm weather we’ve had for a few weeks now stops today. We’re looking at temperatures in the 30’s, no sun and snowflakes are falling already. One good thing about showing houses in this kind of weather though…if they like the house today, they will LOVE the house when the weather looks more like these photos.
