The Farmers Market at the N.C. Research Campus, in Kannapolis North Carolina, opened for its second year on Thursday, May 7. It's a great way to support the local economy by purchasing produce grown within 100 miles of Kannapolis.
Live music is also provided to add to the fun!
Time: 4:00 to 7:00 pm, THURSDAY evenings beginning May 7, 2009 and ending October 29, 2009

Come out to see old friends and celebrate the history and people of Kannapolis at the Kannapolis Intimidators game Saturday, May 30th. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. The first 1000 fans will receive a free replica of the Gem Theatre. There will be fireworks after the game.
Fans may pick up their complimentary tickets (limit 2 tickets per person while supplies last) for this special night at the Gem Theatre, City of Kannapolis' City Hall, the Utility Billing Office, Public Works Office and Parks & Recreation Office at Village Park.
On this special night, the stadium will be filled with historical photographs, artifacts and additional memorabilia courtesy of the Kannapolis Historical Associates.

The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame will open soon in Kannapolis near the North Carolina Research Campus. It will be located in the old Kannapolis jailhouse and will honor musicians, singer, songwriters and producers who have made contributions to American music and are from the state of North Carolina. Exhibits include Randy Travis, Andy Griffith, Ben Folds and Billy Scott and the Chairmen of the Board. The music hall of fame should open to the public by June 1.

Kannapolis Parks and Recreation will host Summer Concerts in the Park at Village Park in Kannapolis. The schedule is as follows:
June 6-Charlotte Symphony
June 20-Right Turn Clyde
July 2-Charlotte Sympony
July 18-The Andrew Theilen Big Band
July 31-The Tams
August 1-The Entertainers and Coastline
August 15-Too Much Sylvia

During the months of May and June, there will be live music in Kannapolis at Veterans Park from on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Lunch will be available from a different downtown restaurant each week or you may bring your own.
