Lake Junaluska, NC

It is not often that you see Lake Junaluska this dry, even if it’s only for draining and cleaning. (The first small picture was taken several weeks ago after a good snowfall.)

Guess it’s a good time to ‘clean’ the Lake while the temperatures are so cold, and our Spring visitors are still at home.

Many people like to walk or run around Lake Junaluska and late yesterday afternoon was no exception while I was taking pictures after I noticed the lights of the cross were lit. North Carolina is a great ‘outdoor’ State because of the mild temperatures and the varied terrain for walking, as well as jogging and hiking.

A great Western North Carolina hiking website called, ironically, Hike WNC, provides information on Trail Heads, Best Hikes, Area Information, Maps, as well as Photos in and around Western North Carolina. Click here to see all the great information on Hike WNC.

ALL the different roses bushes that are in full bloom at Lake Junaluska this month are almost enough to make me want to be a gardener.  Earlier this week I took over 200 photos of the beautiful Lake Junaluska roses after discovering them by chance (luck) on my way home.

Picking out a reasonable number of rose photographs to share in the slideshow below was difficult as I wanted to include all of them!

Beautiful Lake Junaluska, which is a beautiful, established residential area developed around a lake, is just a few minutes from my home and my office, so I drove by the Lake yesterday to see if there were any photo opportunities before I went home. Wow, I hit another jackpot. There are too many rose bushes to count planted all along the Lake's jogging path, which is quite long.

Here is just a sample (out of 200+ photos I took) of the beautiful roses blooming along the lakefront.
