The 2009 Lincoln County Apple Festival will be held in downtown Lincolnton, N.C. on Saturday, September 19 from 9:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m.
Join lots of other festival goers in Lincolnton for this premier festival of apples, art, and culture. With 150 booths and upwards of 60,000 visitors annually, the Apple Festival celebrates all things apple. Apple growers sell fruit off their trucks under the tree canopy on West Main Street. Apple cider, apple ice cream, apple fritters, pies and slushies are sold by Lincoln County farmers, businesses, and local nonprofit groups and churches. The day kicks off with the annual 5K race. Local crafters and artists exhibit juried pieces on the lawn of the courthouse and apple recipes are judged nearby. Children enjoy activities designed just for them, and everyone likes shopping at the library's annual book sale. Local musicians jam on multiple music stages throughout the downtown area. Bring your wagon - you're bound to leave with a gallon of cider, a locally thrown piece of Catawba Valley pottery and a bag of apples!
