Our thoughts are with our military members and their families, as this is a difficult time of year to be separated.
I wanted to use this opportunity to ask you to support numerous charity organizations that directly help our service man and women.
In October, President Bush signed the fiscal 2009 defense budget which authorized a 3.9% pay raise for service members, which will take effect 1 January 2009. This represents a one-half-percent increase over Bush's initial request. So we can look forward to that in the coming year! I am optimistic that we will see lots of positve changes in 2009 and this might be just one of them!

While the title may be a little confusing there really is not a "Cherry Point Real Estate Market". All housing on the base is owned by the U.S. Goverment and handled by the base or outside contractors. The off-base real estate market is Havelock and the surrounding civilian communites are impacted as well. For the sake of this article let's say Havelock gets the lions share of the Cherry Point off-base housing market.
Home sales last 12 months 306
Sales price range $46,000-$300,000
Homes on market as of May 1 2008 137
Last 3 months averages>>>>>
6.5 month supply of inventory on the market for sale (balanced)
Average days on market 85
Sales price to list price ratio 98%
Average sales price $149,603
This market is humming!
