For those looking for a nice community on the outskirts of town, NC then the Hawthorne subdivision in N. Raleigh is worth considering. The Hawthorne neighborhood consists of custom built, single family homes. With a large proportion of common wooded spaces, Hawthorne one of the most desired location in the Raleigh suburbs. About 70% of Hawthorne consists of common space including walking trails, a covered bridge, pool, tennis courts and charming gazebos.

All this space gives Hawthorne a unique expansive character. Hawthorne has its own sewer and water system. This friendly neighborhood contains houses that range in price from $350,000 to $550,000. Construction in Hawthorne started in the mid-1980s and continued until the late 1990s. There are close to 150 houses in Hawthorne. Most homes are large and have 4+ bedrooms and 2+ car garages. With amenities like fireplaces in the master suite, first-floor laundry rooms, interesting exterior facades and shingled roofs, Hawthorne is a premier suburban community.

Hawthorne offers a variety of home styles and sizes to buyers. Located in the watershed of Falls Lake, the maximum housing density allowed in this area is 1 house per acre.
