Salter Path Post Office Closing it's Doors!

If you do not have a Post Office box located in the Salter Path Post Office, you may not be aware that they will be closing their doors on November 5th. So if you stop by there to pick up stamps or mail packages, you will need to head to Atlantic Beach or Emerald Isle Locations starting on November 4th.

If you do have a Salter Path Post Office Box you do not need to worry about a new address or a new box & key. What will happen is..... You can pick up your mail at the Salter Path Location until 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 5th, 2011. They will re-locate the P.O. Boxes to the Atlantic Beach Post Office, Located at 1110 West Fort Macon Road. So, on Monday, November 7th, when you go to pick up your mail, you will need to head to the Atlantic Beach Post Office, where you will find your old box. They will have a separate area for Salter Path and you will be all set.

As far as the wonderful & friendly folks that operate the Salter Path Location.... I don't know if you will find them at the Atlantic Beach location or not.... I hope so, they have been fabulous! IF not, I hope they know how much we all appreciate the work they have done.... And always with a friendly smile on their faces. We'll Miss You!

Friday Foto on the Crystal Coast

I love living on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina! Everyday is filled with beautiful sights and sounds, and the smell of the sea air comforts me. The photo below was taken from the beach in Salter Path, North Carolina. Salter Path is a small fishing village in the middle of Bogue Banks Island, and has so much to offer. Fresh seafood, great restaurants, watersports, quint little shops, but the views....are Unbelievable!

Happy Friday from the Crystal Coast!

Art Gallery Reception, St. Francis by the Sea

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

5:00 - 7:00 PM

The featured artist for July is Evelyn Nateman. Evelyn was born in Columbus, OH. She earned her BSc in Education and her M.A. in Adult Education from the Ohio State University. She then earned a M.H. in Biblical Art, Archaeology, and History from Ohio State and Hebrew University in Jerusalem. For many years she taught a wide range of subjects including Hebrew, Bible, Ancient and Modern Israel, and art at Congregation Tifereth Israel, in Columbus, grades four through adult.

Evelyn has worked in fabric art for many years, beginning with embroidery, weaving, and all aspects of machine sewing. She began experimenting with papercutting 20 years ago after seeing an exhibit of papercuts at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. She frequently incorporates Biblical themes and ancient artifacts and architecture within her papercuttings as her subject matter. Her papercuttings and commissions may be found in private collections throughout the U.S. and Israel. She has participated in more than 40 exhibits that have featured her work. At age 85, Evelyn is still creating beautiful, intricate papercuttings!

Evelyn Nateman Artist's Statement:

"I have always felt the need to scribble, write, draw, embroider, sew...CREATE! I have also felt the desire to teach, and have done so in formal and informal situations since my teens. Papercutting gives me the opportunity to combine artistic endeavors and experimentation in new forms and techniques with my studies of ancient Israel, its art and architecture, and my need to teach and share with others. I use my papercuttings to portray a holiday, and event, or a feeling expressed through a psalm or proverb."

Please join Evelyn Nateman on July 2nd, 2010 for the Reception from 5:00-7:00 PM and enjoy her amazing work. The works will be on display at St. Francis by the Sea until July 30th, 2010 and may be viewed from 9:00 am til 1:00 pm, Monday - Thursday.
