What is there to do in Franklin, NC? Scaly Mountain Outdoor Center is fun in the winter

Growing up in upstate NY I had a lot of fun as a kid in the winter.  I loved to ice skate & sled.  I never did go skiing I was too chicken.  Here in NC they do it a little different, they Tube. Come visit and experience, or rediscover, the fun of Trout Fishing in NC, Ice Skating, summer tubing, and Snow Tubing in NC.

Here at Scaly Outdoor Center they have Snow Tubing even in the summer on their artifical turf, Iceskating and Trout fishing.   Mother Nature is about to dump some more snow here in the mountains of NC and when she doesn't they make it. It's a ton of fun for the whole family.  They also have a kiddie hill so don't worry little ones. 

 If you enjoy the Trout fishing you must take what you catch, no throw backs. Heck they will even clean them for you and give you recipes to cook trout. 

After your day of fun you are sure to work up an appetite so be sure to visit the Downhill Grill.  Save room for dessert because they have Home made Pies. A cozy, rustic dining atmosphere, & feel free to bring your own beer or wine.

It's a short drive from Franklin, NC to Scaly Mountain, NC.  Just head south on Hwy441 toward Georgia take a left on 106 toward Highlands, NC about 20 miles.  Altanta is just 115 miles away.
