About Southern Pines' Talamore

Talamore is a very popular non-gated golf community in the Pinehurst-Southern Pines area. Located in a prime and very convenient location, the community features a top rated course designed by the well known Rees Jones. Part of the community borders the Southern Pines Reservoir Park. Residents and guests have direct access to a 2 mile long trail that borders the reservoir. It's a perfect place to walk, jog or ride your mountain bike.

There are two entrances: the main entrance (Talamore Drive) is located off Midland Road right across from Knollwood Village. You can also access Talamore off Knoll Road (Highland View) while traveling through Longleaf CC, its neighbor to the west.

The Talamore Golf Villas are an excellent opportunity for investors or those looking for a great golf getaway location and a low cost way to obtain a Mid-Tal membership. When you purchase property in Talamore that has an active membership, you can pay the transfer fee (now $12,500) and then choose the dues structure that works best for you. A Mid Tal membership gives you full access to golf at Mid South and Talamore and facilities and amenities at both locations.

The 98 golf villas were built between 1995 and 2005. They have a modern brick/vinyl colonial style exterior. Most area buyers find these a much nicer alternative to the more dated Pinehurst condos built in the mid 70's that line Pinehurst Course's 3 and 5. There's a mix of golf view, reservoir park wooded view (Southern Pines Reservoir Park) and interior units. The floor plans are 2 BR, 2 BA and total about 1,200 s.f. for most. There a fewer number of scaled down 2 BR models and 3 BR plans. Many owners opt to put their unit on Talamore's short-term rental program to defray their ownership costs. Current asking prices for the villas range from the mid 100's to low 200's.

If you are searching for a tremendous value, modern and spacious condo in the Pinehurst area--whether for investment or for a second home--you ought to take a look at the Talamore Villas. The Villas at Talamore total 98 and were built between 1997 and 2005. There are a limited number that are actually golf front.
