When I reblog something, it tends to stick in my mind and that’s what happened when I reblogged William Johnson’s post "Why Do You Think Readers Read Your Blog Posts and Who Are They? " about what to blog and what people will read and inviting not only AR members to post comments but also to get our non-AR members to interact with us. Be sure to read this well deserved "feature" post.

I drove about an hour to Weaverville, NC today for a closing on a really cool Victorian house in Hot Springs. Those of you might have seen some of the photos I posted of the awesome huge creek that flows along the boundary of this property. Driving back towards Balsam got me thinking about William’s post and when I got home it was with great delight that I read an email to us from a friend and client who lives in Weaverville.

Maybe the secret to engaging your family, friends, clients and strangers in reading your posts might be to mix the topics and simply be yourself. Writing about our listings and sharing our knowledge about real estate is an important part of being ourselves. Just as important though could well be sharing our interests, pets, skills, opinions and whatever else we’re personally comfortable with putting out on the internet.

When people hire us they aren’t always hiring just a REALTOR, they are also looking for someone who has something in common with them. People are always more comfortable if they can feel we might have insights into helping them define what they are looking for.

I emailed Patti back and told her she’d be the subject of a post tonight. Leslie and I are so fortunate with the people we are surrounded with.

Here’s wishing you a good evening and I hope you enjoy Patti’s recommendation for music. She’s right, we easily bond over our musical tastes - I close my eyes and can remember like yesterday when I used to listen to Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood and Blind Faith quite often.
