My business choice of the day is Home Of Economy in Minot ND. Here is a small regional chain (I believe about 4 stores) that has not only survived but thrived in the shadows of the big box stores that have popped up around it. If you live in Minot ND and you have not been to Home Of Economy shame on you. It is conveniently located on 20th Ave SE just across from Kmart. As you can see from the sign above a great deal of Home Of Economy's business is farm related but I assure you there is a lot there for you no matter who you are. There is a ton of housewares and I'd dare to venture that if you can not find that kitchen thing anywhere you just may find it at Home Of Economy. Looking for Men's and Women's Western Wear, try Home Of Economy. Need Work Clothes like Carheart, try Home Of Economy.
It's my opinion they really should change the name to Home Of Economy AND Quality. Unlike the many box stores, I've never purchased a product at Home Of Economy that broke the first time I've used it, in fact I don't think I've purchased a product here that has broke or malfunctioned ever.
They have service here to! You not only don't need a tracking device to locate a clerk, chances are one will actually approach you and ask if you would like some assistance! Also in the line of service you will find that they have an excellent tire shop and can help you with your automotive battery needs as well. Guys, while you are getting those tires rotated or a battery installed you can stop in at the Barber Shop inside Home Of Economy. A REAL Barber Shop! Last of all let me say that good service only comes from good management. What about a manager that is readily available to the public? Home Of Economy in Minot is managed by Rob and he is always eager to meet you and address any concerns you might have.
I love Home Of Economy in Minot ND and I think you will to. You can tell them Bob Timm, Realtor, Minot sent you (chances are they won't have a clue as to who that is but what the heck, tell them anyway). Last thing I'm going to mention... FREE COFFEE! Oh and I also do not want to forget to mention that as we get near to Christmas look for the biggest toy selection in town at Home Of Economy in Minot. Ho Ho Ho, see you there!

WELCOME TO MINOT ND! When I first moved to Minot North Dakota I was really looking forward to a house call from Welcome Wagon. Now that may seem strange for a guy but you see my mom was the Welcome Wagon hostess for Fargo ND and I was fascinated with what she did. Well I soon found out that there would be no welcome to Minot ND from Welcome Wagon as there wasn't one in town. In Truth there was one and two competitors but all went out of business with certain privacy laws.
I checked into it further and what seemed to be the stumbling block for the now defunct welcome to Minot ND businesses was that they used to get their names from the utilitie companies and those companies could no longer pass that information out. I knew this would not stop my mom and I was not going to let it stop me. Minot North Dakota needed a business that said Welcome To Minot to it's newest community members. Well to make a long story short I got things rolling and now for better then 5 years Minot ND says Welcome To Minot ND with the assistance of Minot's New Neighbors.
Minot's New Neighborssays Welcome to Minot ND through many sponsors (Bob Timm of Oak Park Realty is a proud sponsor) who give the new residents of Minot ND coupons and gifts to let them know we are here to serve them. There is no charge for Minot's New Neighbors to the new residents and they will bring the welcome to Minot package right to your door. They love to visit, it's their job.
If you are new to Minopt ND in the last year you will want to contact Minot's New Neighbors and get your welcome to Minot package today. Call 701-837-8485 or email them at neighbors@srt.comand tell them Bob Timm, Realtor, Minot ND sent you.

Why yes, my 9 year old daughter Tina did make my sign. I was trying to figure out how I could come up with a nice little sign in front of my business that wouldn't destroy my budget when my daughter asked to help. She drew a picture of what she would do and we went from there. Tina is very gifted when it comes to craft work so I let her do her thing. She borrowed some letters from the movie theater sign to trace around and then she drew the tree (freehand) on another piece of wood. I used a jig saw to cut the tree out. She painted everything and then I climbed the latter and assembled it. Of course for the snooty who frown upon such amature work we do have a professional banner in our window but I gotta tell you I'm proud as heck of my daughters work!

Real Estate sales are a challenge no matter what the conditions are in any area. For most Real Estate agents across the nation the question on their mind is "where am I going to find a buyer?" and "How low do we need to go to sell this listing?". Over the last two years the questions in Minot ND are the exact opposite due to a severe housing shortage. We are experiencing a US Air Force Base expansion and an Oil Boom. In a town of 35,000 there is not an apartment vacancy to be found and homes that sold for $30,000 two years ago are now selling for $100,000. A word to those about to move here and what to purchase a home. Get a Realtor NOW, check your emails daily from that Realtor, and don't think for a minute that any home priced under $150,000 will stay on the market longer then a week unless it is over priced for one reason or another.
