In these times, negativity seems to be all around us. Between tough banking regulations regarding mortgages and many buyers with credit problems, it has been very hard to get deals to close. This has been very disheartening and can leave you feeling that your efforts are in vain. As an agent who has been through the highs and the lows with the different markets, it can sometimes be hard to have a positive outlook. Yesterday I received a call from a previous customer who I had dealt with about 15 years ago, he remembered me and was calling looking for commercial property. This was a surprising call. I had to think back to try and place him - it had been a long time since we spoke. I finally remembered who he was and was glad that after all these years he still had confidence in me that I would give him the service that he was looking for. I was happy that I had made such a good impression on him, because he is in a business where he has constant contact with realtors. One of the benefits of staying with the same company for a long time is that previous customers who are satisfied with you can always find you. In these times, this was a nice boost for my ego. I guess all of my years of hard work sometimes pays off.

Today at our office meeting, I was awarded a beautiful glass paper weight for my Premier Service Diamond Award. This award was received because the service I gave to my customers resulted in them completing a survey stating that I gave them 100% excellent service. This was judged by buyers and sellers in which they completed surveys that were sent to them from the company after the closing. Satisfied customers is how I always base my business and repeat customers come from good service. Through the years, I have received other awards similar to this one. 20 years ago when we were operating under Century 21, I received the Quality Service Award naming me #1 amongst my peers, out of 6,000 agents. Through the years I have continued to place my customers needs as my priority and have been rewarded with referrals and repeat business. My reputation speaks for itself.

I recently listed a property that I felt would be an easy sale. I priced it right, it was in an excellent location on a large piece of property. The homeowner told me that there was a small easement on the property that his mom had given to her neighbor a few years back. This neighbor had taken the homeowners mom to his own attorney and had prepared papers in his favor regarding this easement. Now the family is trying to sell this property and is faced with problems regarding the deal their mom had with the neighbor. The property could not be sold without much legal expense and time. Thankfully with everyones cooperation and new legal advise we were able to have this problem corrected and go forward with the sale. This ended up taking an additional six months and a hefty expense. Due to my experience in the business I was able to hold this deal together and close with the original buyer. Everyone left happy and another deal was closed successfully with buyers and sellers.
As a Premier Service Agent for GMAC, I have worked with many buyers and sellers through the years. Most important to me is the level of service I provide to my many customers. At the end of each transaction a report is sent to the buyer or seller about the service they received during this transaction.
