In recognition of July 4th, a soda company has decided to put the Pledge of Allegiance on the side of its bottle. Unfortunately they left out the words “under God” in the oath of loyalty. Did they forget? Was it a typo? NO! They didn’t want to “offend” anybody…Really? Well let’s talk about this for a minute, because this seems to have been an ongoing pursuit by American citizens for a long time.
I am just a normal, average American, I was raised Catholic but I don’t practice exclusively. I believe in God but I don’t attend church regularly and I definitely do not preach, nor do I force God on those around me. Though, to many, this is about forcing God on those who don’t believe, to me it is a complete act of absurdity. To me, this isn’t about God, Buddha, Satin or whoever else you decide to put your faith in…this is about changing history….which is impossible.
The Pledge of Allegiance was written by Francis Bellamy in 1892, it was then formerly adopted into Congress in 1942 and in 1954 the words “under God” were added. Now, first and foremost, who gives anybody the right to change this historic pledge to our flag? Well, I guess the only people that can do that are Congress, but even then why would they do it? In order not to offend anybody? I should hope not.
Christians, people who believe in God, make up approximately 75% of our nation. Many of those say that their religion and God are of paramount importance in their lives. Out of the other 25% of the people who make up America, 5.5% are of other religious beliefs (such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam) and about 15% have no religious beliefs at all.
So, who exactly is this soda company trying NOT to offend? The 75% of Americans who believe in God, or the 25% who don’t? What has this world come to?

Happy New year to all.
Why do I get the feeling that Realtors do not like some inspectors? Could it be because inspectors are paid to perform an inspection and if the house has problems or conditions that need addressing then, he or she puts them down in the report. If an inspector is worth their salt then he or she is going to be detailed as well as find problems. Look hard and long enough at anything and anybody and you will find faults.
I get the feeling that some time the Realtor wants some inspectors to not be very thorough. So, why do some Realtors not want the inspector to not be so thorough? Even if there is a problem, most problems can be fixed. If folks want a home sold, then is it not just best to have problems found, and have them repaired? I have been told by some Realtors at times that if an inspection would not have been performed then the deal would not have been blown. When I hear this, I just about want to scream. I know that both Realtors want a deal to go through but if my representing Realtor ever said this to me then I would be very disappoointed.
I know that many Realtors are great just like inspectors and there are bad apples in every bunch.
Inspectors should have ethics as well as Realtors. I am all for this.
If you were to buy a house, would you not want the inspector to be very detailed and find any problems, providing they existed of course? If it was your money? Of course you would!
Another question I have. Do you ever request that an infra red scan be performed to a home before the buyer buys the house? Or do you just typically just suggest a general home inspection be performed? Do most folks even know what a infra red scan will do and can do and what kind of information you will have after performing an infra red scan to a home.? Many of times, without the use of the infra red scan, we are not able to determine what is going on behind walls and ceilings without performing an infra red scan. When you have a physical every year, providing that you do, do you not want tests to be run to make sure that you do not have problems and if so, do some thing that can be done to correct any problems? For example, when I have a physical, I have all kinds of lab work done. My health care provider may tell me I look fine but until tests are run how will he or she be able to tell me or be able to determine what is going on with my body of flesh? Does this make sense?
I would appreciate any of yours input on this subject.
If it is hot, stay cool with plenty of water and shade.
Aloha,
David
Did you know that cleaning up pet waste, pet droppings is not only good for your health but good for our environment?
Did you know that in Mecklenburg County that we have over a quarter of a million dogs and these dogs are producing in excess of more than 72,000 pounds of droppings each day?
Did you know that if you do not take care of animal waste in your yard that it gets transported to strom drains which then goes to your local water ways without being treated?
Did you know that there is bacteria, viruses, parasites that are in pet waste which can also be harmful to human health? You never want to walk without shoes in your back yard if you have an animal. Why, you mind end up with some thing like hook worm or some other kind of worms in your body. Kinda gross huh?
When you take your animal for a walk are you using a leash and are you cleaning up the waste from your dog with a bag so others may not step on it while walking?
Have you applied lime to your yard this year? This will really help if you have animals.
I used to have a boxer given to me by the Carolina Panthers and my dogs was stolen but the police got him back only the dog was stolen again. This time for good. He was my buddy and I really miss Dino my boxer.
Got mold? Got water damage?
