Karen Moorhead Ann Arbor Area Real Estate

getmedowntown.com

There is a group of people in Ann Arbor who have a ton of fun…going to Detroit. This event was a wonderful success. We left A2 and took a bus (think party huge bus, not school bus) and went to the DIA for the late Friday night hours. It is a wonderful experience I would recommend to anyone, but the fun on the bus made it a night to remember.

DIA

This is straight from Rebecca’s description who is one of the wonderful organizers: “If you don't know how getmedowntown.com works, essentially they organize a charter bus to take you and your best friends to enjoy Detroit's amazing nightlife. They leave from downtown Ann Arbor, and take you to a predetermined location in Detroit, then leave at a predetermined time and place to come home. Bus costs are around $15/person, then
there are ticket costs, and your own food and drink. There are also referral perks, give-aways, and contests.

Please let me know if you think this is something you are interested in, and if it looks like we could fill a bus, we will let you know the details, and where to sign up.”

The next trip that has been suggested is to Detroit Roller Derby Girlz. They are planning this for Saturday, April 10th Look forward to seeing you on a trip downtown in the future. if you are interested please make a comment and visit the website.

If you can think of other events which would be fun please provide suggestions. Maybe we could get buses from all over Michigan to some fun event. Who knows this could create a new trend. It certainly seems to be doing so for Ann Arbor.

Skate Park Meeting to discuss the Proposal April 2

Outdoor fun for the kids has been proposed. There is a group of citizens proposing an outdoor skate park at Vet's Park. The next meeting to discuss the Skate Park is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2 @ 6:30. The meeting will take place at Abbott Elementary School.

If you are a supporter or just want to hear about the plans please attend the meeting. Here is where Abbott is located.

Veteran's park is a wonderful place that has already been voted the best sledding hill and ice rink in the city. They have fun for the summer with batting cages, tennis courts and a wonderful outdoor pool with children's slide and large pool for the young children. Now they are proposing a skating park and will be discussed on Wednesday, April 2.

Looking forward to hearing how it progresses. Ann Arbor parks

CHEFS for Top of the Park Tuesday, March 18, 2008

Last night was the wonderful event commonly known as “CHEFS” which is a fundraiser for Top of the Park. The food was fabulous but the wine choices left much to be desired.

Loved the appetizer from Katherine’s Catering, which was a tuna trio with citrus seasoned greens and a wonderful crispy wonton wafer. Eve from the restaurant prepared a wonderful spicy quail over very garlicky greens, which I loved, but my friend skipped the greens.

The soup prepared by Duc from Pacific Rim. It was duck consommé with a stuffed wonton that was fabulous and the salad from Food Art was also wonderful.

The entrée from Zanzibar was a very well received Moroccan lamb shoulder and they did offer a vegetarian option, which no one tried at the table, but the tagine was so excellent I would go back for it sometime.

Cheese plate from Morgan and York was a wonderful trio and nice ending to a great meal.

The final dessert from Common Grill was chocolate-banana bread pudding and went home with me. We also brought home a couple of Schakolad champagne and dark truffle, as if we didn’t have enough to please the foodies among us!

Wonderful evening was had by all!!
