As reluctant as I am to say goodbye to Summer....the choice is not mine!
Hearing the August crickets is the warning...Winter is coming, Winter is coming!
The dread is tempered by anticipation. The anticipation of the Beauty of Fall.
This years peak was beautiful and the weather was perfect. My husband and I each grabbed a camera and went off for a day of "leaf peeping" and exploration.
No matter how many years we've repeated this ritual...It is a new and rewarding experience each time!

Everybody loves the Fair!
A few weeks ago we attended the Hopkinton Fair in Contoocook. New Hampshire.
The temperature had been very hot for this time of year so we all decided to try the Fair at night!
I live quite close to the Fairgrounds so my husband, brother, sister-in-law, niece and I grabbed the baby's stroller....and off we went!
Of course we have the obligatory Equipment Display! Wouldn't be the Fair without it!

New Hampshire Fairs still emphasize Agriculture, 4-H Animal Raising and Horse Pulling so we spent a good deal of time in the various Barns.

The State of New Hampshire will be holding seminars to help homeowners to hopefully avoid Foreclosure.
The next seminar will be at CATCH neighborhood housing in Concord on Thursday from 6-8PM.
To be discussed:
There will be speakers. Some topics will cover foreclosure timelines, mortgage scams and deficiency judgements.
New Hampshire offers an all inclusive website that covers a wealth of information for homeowners in trouble!
It is definately worth a look!

During our recent outing to Gould Hill Orchards in Contoocook we were very pleasantly surprised to stumble upon "The Little Nature Museum"
A Hidden Jewel
The Little Nature Museum was established in 1955 in Winthrop MA, by Sandra W. Martin. She is its Founder and Director. It was in Weare NH for 31 years and relocated to Gould Hill in 2000.
Sandra is an experienced Science teacher and Naturalist. As a child she was educated in Science through
the Science program at the Boston Museum of Science. 
Here is Sandra with my husband Geoff...he's headed in to look at fluorescent minerals under Black-light.
One of the best aspects of this place are the extensive "Hands on Exhibits"
What a fun destination for a family outing! And the attractions aren't just appealing to the "little ones".
There are fun and interesting facts for all ages....
For example "did you know"
that beautiful plant with the orange berries ~ BITTERSWEET 
(that we use to decorate our homes)....is considered an
INVASIVE SPECIES
And just how good are you at recognizing that perennial scourge called 
POISON IVY?
Are you a Scout Troop Leader? How many Badges could they fill here??

The Museum is open limited seasonal weekends and private tours by appointment. During the Winter months the Hopkinton Public Library holds special exhibits and programs. Check out the Website for times, dates, and whatever else you need to know....it's packed with information!

Client service is my priority. I work in Buyer and Seller representation. I'm active in several State Board committees. I am especially interested in Senior needs, interests and issues.
The Village of Contoocook (Hopkinton), just north of Concord, NH is my home. I work for Homequest Real Estate, The family atmosphere and supportive environment makes for happy agents. There is always someone to give a hand,share their knowledge or even pick up lunch!
I concentrate my efforts on Merrimack County and towns within it. This has enabled me to be knowledgeable of values, attributes and unique traits of any given town or area. Merrimack County reflects an exciting diversity of landscape, villages, lakes,mountains,rivers and of course the Capitol City of Concord. This is a wonderful area to put down roots!
After living in the same house for 26 years my family and I have recently moved and downsized. During all of this I have experienced and seen Real Estate go through some remarkable changes.
I have been married for 40 years and have one son, who is 26. We have two small dogs who are very noisy but give my husband and I many humorous moments! 
WHY ME ?? 
I believe that the most important part of my job is being educated in the process. If I know my business then I can use that knowledge to better serve my clients,both Buyer and Seller. To that end I make an effort to take many education classes as they are offered during the year. I acquired my GRI from the RE Institute. That alone required 80 hours of education. I am also Certified in Buyer Representation. I have also been inducted into the NHAR Honor Society for the past 4 years.
I have recently earned my SRES designation. This will enable me to uniquely serve the needs of the Senior Community.
I decided to expand into this niche' because I feel my own recent personal experiences and my peer relationship will give me a unique perception of Seniors and their issues.
Real Estate is one of the few businesses that encompasses "friendly" rivals. To furthur good relationships in my RE community I am an active member of several State Realtor committies.
Volunteering is an important part of my life. I am the Board Chair for The Parent Information Center, a local community non-profit. This organization helps familys with children with disabilities.
I am also increasingly involved in the tecnological aspects of my Profession. I find the changes to be really exciting.
I spent many years in the food service industry. For 7 years I had my own company -a cafeteria franchise business-Joni's Tidbits Cafe. This business required me to develop the skills of Management, Mediation, Negotiation and Positive Interaction. Real Estate was a smooth transition! Same skill set just a different venue.
In conclusion...I really love what I do. I meet many wonderful people. I am constantly challenged with interesting situations and I have unexpectadly discoverd a whole new circle of friends!

Nurturing valuable associations with several Lenders, Home Inspectors, and Home Related Service people whom I can recommend in confidence assures my clients of good representation. I refer only those people who subscribe to the same Service ethic that I personally try to uphold.
I like working with motivated Sellers and I pride myself on my frequent communication and collaboration with them. "Team work" sells! I always do assisted showings. No lock boxes or single broker showings. I feel your property is my responsibility, and to show it in it's best light ... I should be there.
I have additional training in Buyer representation. I have a special fondness for first time home buyers! Their special excitement is always "new" even after many transactions. And I never tire of it. I am proud to be a surrogate "Grandmother" to many new 2cd generations. I look forward to pictures and emails detailing their many milestones.
I'm now preparing to practice these skills in an additional client niche'. I plan to also be working with Seniors and their familys to help smooth the way over many diverse ostacles unique to the"boomer" generation and beyond.
