Why Me!

I was Born in Long Island New York and moved to Peachtree City, Georgia 6 years ago. Prior to entering real estate I worked in the jewelry business for 25 years. During those years I learned customer service, customer commitment and customer loyalty. Besides being a people person and enjoying working with the public, my duties were sales, negotiating and purchasing jewelry for the stores. I am certified in diamond and diamond grading with the Gemologist Institute of America. Managing for the last 15 years, my responsibilities included design and marketing, and I have designed ads in many local newspapers for many local business.

I enjoy spending time with family, bike riding, video games and strangely enough scuba diving considering I never learned how to swim. My greatest love is animals so I volunteer with many different animal rescue groups in fund raising and foster care.

First of all I would like to thank Stephan without whom I would never have found Peachtree City. I still remember vividly the first conversation I had with Stephan. I told him of my interest in making a move from the place I was raised and called my home for over 44 years (Long Island, NY). I had mentioned to him that I had been looking around the Northeast for a new place for my family and me to call home. He asked what I was looking for in my new home. I told him in a nice place for my family to grow up with great schools, low crime, wholesome environment, some property, a nice house and all of this at a lower cost of living. I kind of expected a chuckle and a request to do a reality check. Instead he uttered two words, "Peachtree City". I was pretty frank with him that after living my entire life within a 5 mile radius it was not likely that I would pickup and move over 950 miles south to Georgia. To placate him I promised I would do a little research and get back to him. I figured after a little research I would have no problem finding a few excuses why this would not be a good fit for us. I wound up spending several months pouring through every piece of information I could find on Peachtree City and trying to convince my family, my wife and her family that I did not lose my mind.

My wife loved the homes we saw on the internet, and the kids loved the thought of hopping into a Golf Cart to get around town and to visit friends. Nobody could argue the facts. Peachtree City had great schools, low crime; it was a wholesome place to live, beautiful homes on nice property, and all of this at a lower cost of living. That's right all of my requirements were met. The last and biggest obstacle was to get my wife on a plane and convince her that this was the place that we would want to call our next home. Talking about it was one thing, but asking my wife to move away from our family was not easy, but she figured after all of the research I had done, she would patronize me and make the trip.

From the minute we passed the Peachtree City "Welcome Home" sign and went under the Golf Cart overpass on Hwy 74, I knew there was actually a chance of convincing her and making this happen. During our two day visit we went to one of the Middle and High Schools and we were both so impressed not only with the Schools, but the student that showed us around and the teacher that during his off period tagged along to see if we had any questions that he could help with. We didn't get to ride a golf cart during our trip, but we saw a lot of people on them that waived to us like we were friends or neighbors. We saw many homes and were amazed that they actually looked even better in person then they had on the internet. They were all on beautiful, serene wooded lots. We even saw a few Deer along the way. While we were seeing homes we made it our business to talk to as many people as we could. We went to a few restaurants and into a couple of food stores and even grabbed a cup of coffee at Starbucks. My wife thought that we would be out of place being a couple of New Yorkers in Georgia. It could not have been further from the truth. We found that Peachtree City is mostly comprised of transplants from all over the USA. It turned out we did not feel out of place at all. We were actually a perfect fit!

We closed on our house on July 1^st just a few months after our visit. We were just in time to see our first July 4^th Golf Cart parade. It's now 2 ¼ years later and it still feels like we are on vacation. The kids love it and have more friends then a kid should have. We are in a great community with terrific neighbors. Every school morning my dog & I hop in the Golf Cart to take my son (in middle school now) to the bus stop. Thanks again Stephan for your part in making our dream come true.

P.S. After our move, my mother, brother & family, two Aunts, one Cousin, my Sister-in-laws parents have all relocated here. Just a cautionary note that Peachtree City can be addictive to your health!

To Whom It May Concern:

When I first talked to Stephan Curcio, we were several weeks into a house search, frustrated with our original agent, and running out of time to close on a house in the time frame that we needed. After the first phone call, I instantly felt better about the house buying process. I talked to Stephan about our needs and price range-and he sent a list of potential properties almost instantly. Knowing that we were in a time crunch, he even previewed homes for us doing the week and then we viewed the best the following weekend. We put an offer in on a home the first weekend we looked at properties with Stephan!

He had done his homework and made finding the right home a breeze. Beyond the home search, Stephan was very honest, straight-forward, and educated about the amount of money we should offer and other things we should negotiate to include in the purchase. We got everything we asked for and more.

Stephan was also my sounding board and advisor when working with our lender. When my loan officer took the entire week before closing off and stopped answering phone calls, Stephan was there-telling me who to contact and what questions to ask to make sure that we would still be able to close on time. Thanks to Stephan's direction, I discovered there was a problem with our paperwork. Stephan worked with me well after "business hours" to get paperwork fixed in time for our original closing date.
