Typed this this morning...just realized I did not send...DOH !

Hey guy's and gal's,

Just in from my corner this morning and feeling great. Bob was in good spirits as usual. He is concerned about the price of the paper going up to 75 cents. The economy has finally caught up with Bob. He knows a quarter extra for the paper is a quarter in tips out of his pocket. He told me it adds up to ten dollars less for the number of papers he usually sells. He smiled and told me at least he had a job and he would just have to stand there longer and sell more papers. I also had a guy yesterday tell me he saw one of my ads on craigslist (I always include a pic of my holding the sign). This morning an elderly lady rolled down her window and said she saw me on TV and I was doing a good job. By the way if you are a Realtor in San Antonio and you don't want to handle Rentals let me know I will do it and pass on a gas card for your trouble. Have fun and have a great day !

This term is not for just your local store anymore. With newspapers closing down across the globe I ponder the question: Do you prefer to read the paper or would you read it online or with an electronic viewing device (plastic)? I personally think paper is a dying medium Even my parents who aren't from the computer age find themselves getting news online. Since checking email has become a normal routine for people the next obvious thing is to read news stories while you are checking the mail. Newspapers were monopolies of Ad revenues prior to the mass appeal of the Internet. Lets face it big companies like mine (remax.com) drive more people to their sites than the newspaper could even wish to circulate to. As a Realtor I placed an Ad in the newspaper before.... it cost me an arm and a leg and I received two phone calls. I placed the identical ad on craigslist and received numerous calls over 200 hits to my site refered by craigslist and sold the property I was advertising within 30 days.Seems to me if the paper wants to stick around they should lower their Ad rates and become favored again by the very people who keep them in business the advertisers

I have been standing on the corner in San Antonio Texas for about two months now. I get a few folks on here that ask me if I have had any results....Well this is the situation thus far. I have picked up three listings, Rented three homes and have a few buyers that are doing their homework. I just entered the listing below in the MLS please take a look at it and as always I do appreciate your feed back.

I had probably the best morning ever at the corner holding my sign. Not for what happened to me but what happened to Bob. As you know someone had recently stolen Bob the Newspaper guy's Bike that he had worked so hard to buy on layaway. Bob worked hard and was able to scrape up enough money to buy another bike. This bike was not as good as the other bike but Bob being the happy guy he is told me this morning it was a great day and everyday seemed to get better and better. Well readers an extraordinary thing happened...Just as the light turned green a Lady rolled down her window and gave Bob an envelope. It was addressed to Bob the Newspaper Guy. He was beside himself with anticipation and rushed over to show me the envelope. I said "open it Bob" and he was unsure it is not every day he gets a letter. Well my friends the letter was the sweetest letter to Bob telling how she had been reading about him on "his friend Richard's Blog" Bob was filled with emotion at the kindness of the words in the letter. Inside dear reader I found myself sobbing a little. I find myself welling up with emotion just writing about it! The lady also included a FIFTY Dollar bill for Bob and wished him well. The kindness bestowed on Bob today was not only monetary but Bob felt compassion from another human being and let me tell you it touched him deeply. To the anonymous lady Bob told me to thank you from the bottom of his "everything" as he put it. I for one will never forgot your kindness to a guy I am proud to call friend.

I tell you this has been the best week ever. I have been working with renters. Two have worked out and one unfortunately rented from a friend. I have a very nice listing coming up and everyone I have been dealing with has been fantastic. I have recently started giving AD Space to my For Sale by Owner friends and I really am enjoying working with them. Our office is full of people and activity. I am ready for things to bust loose. Are you ready....it's contagious...it really is. Are you in San Antonio...Don't want to work with renter's send them my way. I am sure we can work something out.
