Flying over Harford County, Maryland

How lucky am I to have a retired friend who calls me at random to fly to Cape May, NJ or Kent Island, MD for lunch? This is an aerial view of my home county, Harford County, Maryland where I have been a life long resident. Harford County is a wonderful mixture of rural, city, and water communities. I think this pictures depicts that.

By the way, here is one of the planes that takes me out of reality for a day.

Do You Give Your Clients PDAs?

Do you give your clients Public Displays of Affection?

Maybe I'm too much about privacy...but, I couldn't help but look at a gift/marketing idea in another light. A friend of mine sends lovely fruit baskets - you know the kind where the fruit is on skewers to look like flowers and arranged in a basket - to clients who have just closed. These arrangements serve 2 purposes.

1. They are a wonderful way to say THANK YOU for your business.

2. They are a wonderful way to advertise your name in your client's office.

BUT, what if your client doesn't want people in the office to know he/she is moving?

What if, like at my husband's office, you need a badge to get in the building and now your client has to excuse himself/herself from a teleconference to receive the basket at the gate? BTW, my husband would be less than thrilled.

Just curious - am I being too sensitive???

Here's what warm weather brings for me......

What will you be doing when the weather breaks? I fully expect the real estate market in Harford County to get HOT! I look forward to working with clients to find some great deals - there are plenty to be had! - and then taking it easy on the bay - maybe catching some rockfish!

My Son Said the Nicest Thing!

Jim Marks wrote some blogging tips that struck me today. Here it is: http://activerain.com/blogsview/974495/7-not-so-common-Mistakes-YOU-may-be-making-with-your-blog

The tip to share your personal thoughts struck me tonight - my son said one of those things that you just wish could be felt in all of us. Last year, my father in law passed away. He lived with us for 8 years in an in law suite in the downstairs of our house. Dan, my father in law, would come home from church every morning with the biggest smile on his face no matter what the weather or what my mood was. He came upstairs at 5:00 while I made dinner and waited to greet my husband every day. He loved my daughter and son like they were angels on earth. So, I just wanted to share a personal thought my son, who is 7, shared out of the blue. He said, "The one thing good about when someone dies is that you still have them in your heart." He got a great big hug from me and a "That is so true."
