The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Riuz was on the NY Best Seller's List a few years back. It has captured my attention since it was recommended to me. Here is the list of the agreements and what they mean....

1. Be Impeccable With Your Word

Say only what you mean and avoid using words that hurt others.

2. Don't Take Anything Personally

I need work on this one..........the book says that nothing anyone does is a result of you - whether it's good or bad....any thoughts???

3. Don't Make Assumptions

Ask questions and to express what you really want, it takes courage. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings.

4. Always Do Your Best

This will mean different degrees on different days. Sometimes we don't feel well and sometimes we are on fire to get a lot accomplished - do your best on that day. Simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

I ran out and bought the book. It's a QUICK read, but you may need to read it twice to really get it.

If you are thinking of purchasing a home, now is the time! I'm sure you've been listening to the news and know all about the trouble some home owners have gotten into with loans that didn't make any sense for them. There are many short sales (the bank is taking a loss) and foreclosures.

What does that mean to you? It means that if you are able to buy a home, you WILL get a great deal. How do you get those deals? Well, you need to work with a knowledgeable Realtor and Mortgage Consultant who will help you get the home of your dreams at a rock bottom price and with a loan that works for you.

My name is Linda Kudrick Greco and I have lived in Harford County for....
let's say 35 some years. In fact, my first boyfriend (I'll call him Jason H.) lived in an apartment on Idlewild in Country Village with his mother and a cat named Chewi (it was a long haired cat and Empire Strikes Back was popular).

It wasn't until I became a Realtor that I started to think of the reasons Jason's mother could have been renting. She was a single mother with a steady job. They weren't rich by any stretch of the imagination, but you don't have to be to own a home. You need 1. a steady job 2. good credit 3.maybe some money for a down payment 4. a knowledgable lender (call Shane...he's right down the road from you) and 5. A Realtor who cares about your personal goal to be a home owner (that's me! and I'm right down the road from you, too).

Here's my question: why do you rent? I'm curious to read why folks at Country Village rent when they can buy. Please submit your answer below by clicking on the word comment.
