NEW MOBILE RECREATION VEHICLE ROLLS OUT

The City launched its new Mobile Recreation Program on June 22nd, and it has proven

to be very popular with young residents. The Mobile Recreation Vehicle rolls out to five

different locations Monday through Friday including: the Rancho Monte Vista Mobile Home

Park, Hunters Hill Park, Crossroads Park, Chino Hills Christian Fellowship, and Alterra Park.

A total of 160 children participated in the first week. Children were able to play outdoor

games, play on carom boards, play board games, make arts and crafts projects, learn about

the food pyramid, and make food crafts.

Mobile Recreation is a new program that features a 25-foot customized vehicle filled

with games, crafts, homework helper supplies, books, sports equipment, DVDs, and Wii

games. It is a free drop-in program for children ages 5-13. Participants may come and go

freely, but they must sign in and out and have a signed emergency card on file. This program

allows Chino Hills Recreation to take recreation activities to various areas in the City to

expand access to fun activities. City Officials are very pleased with the response from the

community and are looking forward to a busy summer.

OLYMPIC VIEW DRIVE SLATED FOR ROAD WORK

WORK BEGINS AUGUST 12TH

The City has issued a $121,000 contract to Hardy and Harper, Inc., of Santa Ana to

resurface Olympic View Drive on the west side of Peyton Drive to Running Springs Drive.

Other streets that will be resurfaced include Meadowcrest Drive, Royal Court, Royal Ridge

Drive, and Moonshadow Place. Work will start Wednesday, August 12th with selective

removal of pavement and grinding of the edges of the existing road surface. Two directions

of traffic will be maintained throughout most of the project as motorists are directed around

the work. The most significant impacts are expected to occur on Thursday, August 27th and

28th as the asphalt layer is applied. Non-neighborhood motorists should avoid the area if

possible on those dates as traffic will be delayed. The work has been scheduled to occur

prior to the start of school on August 31st. Workers will be in the area after the paving to

complete the project. For additional information please call the project manager, Anne

Dutrey, at (909) 364-2760.
