Senate to "Probably" Extend SBA Stimulus Package
Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson on SBA, Wall Street and Main Street
But when Congress increased the SBA 7(a) guaranty to 90% and waived the borrower fees - that
worked. Loan volume increased.
Is there any appetite to continue that past December, when the funding runs out?
Senator Isakson: I'll give you an interesting answer, I'll say, probably.
When I say probably, there are any number of temporary approvals we've given in any number of
areas.
1) SBA Loans are on The Rebound - LA Times
"It is a viable option to raise additional capital. Obviously banks are concerned about what additional regulatory oversight comes with that," said Brian Carlson, chief executive of Excel National Bank, a Beverly Hills-based community bank and SBA lender with $200 million in assets. But access to additional capital doesn't guarantee a community bank will find significantly more small firms that qualify for loans. Some community banks have enough capital but don't want to make more small-business loans, which many consider higher risk, because they are already struggling with troubled commercial real estate portfolios.
2) SBA Proposes Revision of Size Standards to Expand Opportunities for Small Businesses
The U.S. Small Business Administration is proposing increases in the size definitions for three broad commercial sectors. The proposed increases cover size standards for 71 different types of businesses, two-thirds of them in retail trade sectors. The rest are in accommodations and food services, and other services. The changes, if adopted, will expand eligibility to small businesses and help them gain access to SBA`s financial assistance, contracting and other programs.

Bonds are down this morning but off their session lows and still improved from yesterday at this time.
Jobless claims came in higher than expected but did not have the positive influence on bond prices that one
might expect. The 4 week moving average and continuing claims both dropped which helped offset the
higher than expected weekly reading. The Index of Leading Economic Indicators was also released this
morning and came in higher than expected. Also released this morning was FHFA's Home Price Index
which showed a 0.3% decline in August. Still the housing data (see chart below) does show an improving
situation. We will get more housing data tomorrow with the release of existing home sales.

Sometime this year, we taxpayers may again receive an Economic Stimulus payment.
This is a very exciting new program. I will explain it using the Q and A format:
Q. What is an Economic Stimulus payment?
A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.
Q. Where will the government get this money?
A. From taxpayers.
Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
A. Only a smidgen.
Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.
Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ?
A. Shut up.
Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely:
* If you spend the stimulus money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China .
* If you spend it on gasoline, your money will go to the Arabs.
* If you purchase a computer, it will go to India .
* If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala .
* If you buy a car, it will go to Japan .
* If you purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan .
* If you pay your credit cards off, or buy stock, it will go to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.
Instead, keep the money in America by:
1. spending it at yard sales, or
2. going to ball games, or
3. spending it on prostitutes, or
4. beer or
5. tattoos..
(These are the only American businesses still operating in the US ....)
I'm going to go to a ball game with a tattooed prostitute that I met at a yard sale, and drink beer!
Just call me a patriot.

You often hear that as time goes by, lovers/couples tend to take each other for granted, which often leads to the demise of the relationship. So, on your end, what can you do to ensure that you keep her happy? Read on and be confused no more.
Keep-Her-Happy Tip #1. Don’t pretend to be someone else.
It’s logical to ‘put your best foot forward’ during the courtship stage but be sure that she didn’t fall for someone completely different from who you really are. Remember that nothing can be sexier to women than a man who is relaxed and confident in his own skin. If you’ve already made the mistake of making her believe you’re different than who you are, then now’s the time to come clean. If you don’t, it would be near to impossible to keep her happy in the long run.

Keep-Her-Happy Tip #2. It’s true; it’s the little things that count.
When was the last time you brought her flowers? Most men think that to make their women happy, they need to splurge and give grand gifts. More often than not, you need only to buy her some flowers, or call her mid-day for no reason whatsoever, or buy her favorite candy, to make her completely happy.
Also, when was the last time you COMPLIMENTED her? A simply comment like “your hair looks great today” or “that blouse looks great on you” will keep her smiling all day.
Keep-Her-Happy Tip #3. Only have eyes for her.
Ok, I know that men like to look around at other women, but please do be cautious of your actions when you are with her. For you, this may be nothing at all but for her this is screaming “unfaithful!”. Women want partners they can trust and depend on… be that man by having eyes only for her when you go out.
Keep-Her-Happy Tip #4. Humor her!
Seriously, laughter is so UNDER-rated. Take some time to share a joke or two. It will make her happy and strengthen your bond.
Keep-Her-Happy Tip #5. Pick up a hobby you can do together.
When I mention this to other men, I get the classic roll of the eyes. However, there must be something you too like together. Otherwise, how did you ever get together in the first place?!? So, find some common hobby you can both engage in.
Keep-Her-Happy Tip #6. Take care of yourself.
Who says that it’s only women who ‘let go of themselves’ when they are in a relationship? Most men develop spare tires, annoying toilet habits and lose fashion sense along the way too. Here’s an exercise, take good look at yourself in the mirror. Compare this person to the guy she met when you started your relationship. How different are you now from that man? Be honest with your answer and see what you can and should do about it.
Keep-Her-Happy Tip #7. Get really acquainted with her friends and family.
You don’t need to fall in love with her family and circle of friends but you should at least show some effort in getting to know them. Your girlfriend/wife – and you for that matter –should not be put in a situation where she has to choose between them and you. It should feel like she’s adding you to her world. Besides, this can work in your favor too. During rough times, her family and friends can rally for YOU.
Keep-Her-Happy Tip #8. Keep things fresh and exciting!
Starting a relationship is always great because you have that giddy everything-is-new feeling. If you’re not careful, you and your partner can easily take things for granted, fall into a routine, and before you know it boredom is hitting you both hard! And this applies to inside and outside the bedroom.
As such, ensure that there’s always something new to experience and share. Take weekend trips to new places; continue taking dates, trying our different restaurants; and of course, explore your sexuality
