What's the best way to get a referral? Is it to pay a company? I understand word of mouth and client care are the best referral generators, but are there decent sites that are worth paying for? In stead of trying each one out for a month as a test, I'd love to know if anyone has some creative ideas about referrals - and more generally advertising - that is free. Google and Yahoo can only take one so far.
Thanks for any help!

"Yes, I think this year’s graduating class will force up rents in many Washington D.C. neighborhoods. Pure conjecture here, but I think neighborhoods like Columbia Heights, Petworth, eastern Capitol Hill, H Street, Eckington, Bloomingdale—you get the drift—will become more competitive either right away or in the coming months..."
Just what the city needs!

"Walt Disney Co. has bought a 15-acre parcel at Prince George's County's sprawling National Harbor development, a shot in the arm for a project that opened with big ambitions a year ago, only to run headfirst into one of the sharpest economic declines in decades."
