Roughly a year old, the Capital City Chapter of the US Green Building Council is off to a great start! One of the nations newest chapters, Capital City USGBC is already holding numerous events, recruiting heavily, and providing a valuable resource to both the building/real estate community and the general community at large. Founding member Christina Newburgh of Barkley Engineers, and a few other dedicated individuals have worked hard to get this group off of the ground. The group is in the process of obtaining 501(c)(3), and is actively seeking members who wish to participate on it's committees.
The next upcoming event will be the USGBC-FCRC Product Fair:
April 22: 5:30 to 9:30 PM | USGBC-FCRC Product Fair
Location: Leon County Civic Center Ballroom (505 West Pensacola St.)
This exhibit will bring together the Capital region's design & construction community, and is free and open to the general public
Download the Flyer for more information.
If you are a vendor intersted in renting a booth, please download the registration form and email it back to Doug Law.
If you are interested in green building, please join us for this free event!

Want to use alternative fuel? ...got a car that could, but don't know where to get it?
Maybe you are like me, and just have an interest in the topic and would be happy to know it is available if you ever go that route. Thanks to a conversation i had the other day in my office at Keller Williams, i'm now aware that alternative fuel is indeed available in this area, and it is affordable!
Here's a map and list of local alternative fuel providers, with information on the type of fuel that they carry. As you can see, it is here, it's a start, and i would say that we're not doing too bad for this neck of the woods.
Bitco Auto Center 7106 Hwy 90 Milton, Fl. 32570
Available Fuel: B-20
Waco Fuel Plaza/Citgo 2717 S. Bryon Butler Parkway Perry, Fl. 32348
Available Fuel: B-20
The fuel types currently publicly available in Florida are as follows:
E85 – An alternative fuel comprised of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline.
E10, or lesser blend – Gasoline blended with 10% or less ethanol.
B100 – An alternative fuel comprised of 100% biodiesel.
B20, or lesser blend – Diesel fuel blended with 20% or less biodiesel.
For more locations in Florida go to the Department of Agriculture's website and directly to their alternative fuel map.
