Grandy Pines..a part of the Where I Live Series!

grandy pines1grandy pines 2grandy pines 3Just off the Highway 65 thorougfare, northbound from the huge town of Grandy (one bar, one car dealer and a wood shop), a little know treasure gives a needed break from the traffic flowing to cabins and northern lakes. A minutes rest in the Grandy Pines, regrowing after a tornado took much of the towering trees, and you are rejuvenated to rejoin the lines. Better yet, stop and purchase a retreat in the woods, and if you are looking in the area, call me!

Where I Live

Driving home from showings last night, I was reminded so much of why I like living in the country. The sky had the beautiful quality to it that just makes all the days cares melt away, and makes you glad to be alive.

Rush Lake 54" Muskie!

54" muskie on Rush Lake The guys were enjoying a lazy day of trolling on West Rush Lake, in Chisago County, when this monstor hit on the Rapala! 45 lbs of fight and fun, it tool three guys to land it, take a photo, and release for another fishermans enjoyment!

Goose Lake, Chisago Counties best kept secret!

For some reason, Chisago Counties lakes come in pairs or chains! The Goose Lake chain is seen as both. Upper Goose Lake is a bowl shaped lake that reaches a maximum depth of about 5' according to the DNR. It is joined to the Southern or Lower Goose Lake by the Goose Lake Narrows. Public access is only available through this upper lake, through a little known public ramp operated by the DNR.

Lower Goose is quite the change, with holes up to 52' and structures that support some great walleye fishing. With lower pressure than surrounding lakes with better access, Goose is somewhat of a local "hands off" treasure. Residents don't like to hear it talked about, and reports are few and far between.

Lower Goose Lake is joined to even smaller Rabour and Mandall Lakes, both known for awesome crappies in the winter fishing season. There is a public access on Rabour, little used during the summer months. The access up to the larger lakes is tenous and narrow, not something you want to chance in a jet boat!

A voluntary lake association on the lake consists of residents who are concerned with keeping the lake free of the weed invasion seen throughout the state.
