I have enjoyed many unique experiences in Alpharetta, Georgia but I have never had the opportunity to meet a First Lady. However, on February 9, 2011 that all changed for me. Yesterday the North Point Community Church hosted First Lady Michelle Obama.
The First Lady's visit promoted the first anniversary of the
Lets Move Campaign, which focuses on ways to combat childhood obesity. The event was jammed packed with celebrities, politicians and of course the media. The First Lady is a skilled speaker and she certainly knows how to use her down to earth personality to win over a crowd. The highlight of the event was the meet and greet. I had the once in a lifetime chance to meet and shake her hand. I noticed that with every hug and with every hand she shook she looked everyone in the eye and gave them a chance to speak. One thing is for sure I will never forget February 9, 2011. What a special treat for Alpharetta, Georgia.
