For some reason the Baltimore City code officials are insisting that CSST gas tubing must not be bonded at the service panel. This goes against all of the best information provided by the manufacturers and other interested parties. Part of the problem is the confusion about who is responsible, the plumber or the electrician...

I am waiting to hear back from the Code officials to see if they are willing to listen to the manufacturers. In the mean time I will continue to call out unbonded CSST gas lines as a potential hazard.

Just returned from a first time home buyers informational seminar. I spoke for about 25 minutes and took questions from the audience. They all seemed to get the fact that a home inspection is an important part of the buying process. This is a program provided by the Southeast CDC in Baltimore. They provide counseling and help to first time home buyers.

This is my first blog post, with many more to come. I have started my own inspection company, after four years working for a multi-inspection company. They have changed their business model to serve inspectors by supplying tools, reports, education, etc... and are no longer booking inspections.

My new company, ALP Inspections LLC is open and I am working hard to get the news out. I have created a new website, but not all the pages are up, still working on that. Feel free to have a look and let me know what you think.
