Recently,...TMZ reported that Jerseys' girls "Snookie" and Jenny "JWOW" are buying a home together in East Setauket. The word out on the street today is that they are looking for a house together as part of a pilot.
Snooks and "J",...may be stirring up some new waves on our own shore in East Setauket. For all the details on thier house hunting read Valerie Kellogg's blog (a writer for "Newsday")
BTW: One of the homes the pair is looking at a "COACH" Listing !!!

Now that the last dish is dried and the turkey leftovers have left, it's time to talk turkey. This conversation has nothing to do with the art of cooking. It has all to do with what your cooking with. I bring this very important point up because every year just around this time I have the urge for new and amazing kitchen appliances.
...Yes, appliances. This is not just a passing fancy. I really feel the need to have serious "cooking hardware" in my home. Its this time of year that I am crazy busy cooking and baking and I could really use that beautiful Stainles Steel "Hybrid Induction Cooktop"...not to mention the Electric Double Wall Oven with wave control and Luxury Glide Oven Racks..yes the luxury glide oven racks what a dream!... (OMG...I feel such a rush... in a "Tool Time" Tim Taylor kind of a way)
Now,.. honestly I'm no "Kelly Rippa", but I can be just as amazing with the right tools and I know you can too. Watch the video on the double oven...you'll be gettin that same rush.
So,..your probably saying to yourself "why is a Realtor promoting this "awesome hardware"? ...The answer is simple, I don't just help you buy or sell Real Estate. I also sell "myself" and a "service" to you... and that is to give you good information on products and services that can make you and your life the best for you.
...and that's what it's all about..... helping each other through life's journey,...one house at a time or one appliance ;)
Electrolux,..if your out there reading, I'm truly amazing too and i'm available. (...but not on weekends!)

Once again someone or something touches me. Tonite I stumbled across another show that kind of touches my heart. This show is a type of make-over show, but it's not your typical "house makeover" It's a makeover of another kind.
This show is about giving a makeover to old schools that are extremely in need of a makeover. The name of the show is "School Pride", where the team has 7 days to give this old dilapidated elementary school new life. I honestly could not believe the condition of this school. (Sometimes, when things are so far from us, just because it's "not in our own backyard" we are so far removed from what is someone else's reality.) This was such an eye-opener for me to see what the conditions actually were in this particular school. Class rooms were in poor condition because of years of neglect, the gym and playground were unsuitable for normal exercise and activities.
It touches my heart and yours probably too, because this is where it's at. These children and all our children are tomorrow's future giving them the best chance to thrive that's what it's all about. In watching this you can see the sense of pride these children had for thier school (even in its terrible state all you see is smiling happy eager faces.) This is the age of innocence where there is excitement for every new milestone and accomplishment. Elementary school is a time in a childs life where everything is "new" and learning is "excitement" and that is why we have to do better.
A show like this does just that. In the end "the makeover", is another happy ending and some more really happy smiling faces. Faces that will continue to learn and thrive through excitement and the pride they have in a school that they love.
The show also "showcased" some really great young enthusiastic teachers who are part of an organization called "Teach for America". These teachers commit to teach for two years in urban and rural areas across the nation. Please check-out the site and thier important work!
As a Realtor I do take a special interest in our SD's here on long Island. It's up to all of us to ensure better standards and equality in schools and the investment it makes in our childrens future.

What a great time on Long Island,..the weather is absolutely perfect ..especially this weekend for some pumpkin picking! ....And Some Fabulous Fall! Beautiful sunshine, not too hot not too cold.
In my neighborhood and probably yours, the Leaves are starting to really fall now too. Most homes by now are decorated with thier fall flowers and scariest ghouls and goblins too !
It's this time also that I try to get back to a more normal pace of life,..although i know that's probably wishful thinking cause we all have so much on our plate these days. I know for me I start to try to get my home in order for the holidays to come. On the inside it's doing all the things that I didn't have time for during the very busy summer, but now since life has slowed a bit it's a perfect time. Big on my list is always reorganizing just about everything from my closet to stuff in the garage and most of all just getting rid of the clutter. Yes,...getting rid of the clutter.."Us Realtors love saying that" So,..call.. Big Brothers ..Big Sisters and give..give..give!

On the outside you should be doing all the "outside things" that you can do since it's so warm. You never know what a couple of weeks can bring in this region. So,..get out and do some "Fall Clean-up to your property. " You'll want to put down your fall fertilizer and start to cut down and prepare some of your flowering shrubs and plants for next year.
I hate to say it ..but it's probably a great time to get out and clean those windows too on a nice day. I just love sparkling windows. (I am a "Windex Queen" !)
..Also since its nice it wouldn't be a bad idea to try to get any small improvement done like a new door or window or maybe re-paint the trim on your house that's been needing a fresh coat of paint !
Remember, Don't sweat the small stuff ..these are just little things that can give your home that xtra kick in "curb appeal" that we all want and love as "Happy Homeowners"
Now,..go Enjoy your Fabulous Fall with your Family!
