Keep Texas Beautiful in Glenn Heights, TX

Our first successful event has come and gone.

We had a nice turn out and everyone enjoyed lending a helping hand to Keep Glenn Heights clean. The numbers are not in yet but I have a feeling we did good on the clean up. Not only did we clean up our main streets but the community also came in truck loads with their trash to the dump site.

We kicked off the event on Friday, April 3rd and ended on Saturday, April 4th at 6pm. At first we thought we would get rained out but that did not happen. It started out a little chilly but the weather improved throughout the day. Free lunch was provided and volunteers received a t-shirt.

Unfortunately, I am now trying to get rid of the poison ivy I picked up aside from the trash.

I have pics of the event below.

Here is the registration site.

This is a picture of my group. They did a great job.

Lunch was served at 12:00. The sun came out and warmed up the temp.

Group of young ladies from First Baptist Church. We were pleasantly surprised they took a Saturday morning to come help us clean up Glenn Heights.

Till next time.

Spring is in the air, time to start working on curb appeal.

Many Realtors know curb appeal will attract the buyer to the home and price will sell it. Since Spring is just around the corner it is time to get out and start fertilizing the yards, cut the dead branches off the trees, trim the bushes and mow the grass- leaves included for mulch. This is just the beginning to bringing out your homes curb appeal. So much time goes into perfecting the perfect lawn. Time which I don't have so I will hire the job out.

If your grass is dull and brown, fertilizing-feeding the grass will bring back its beauty. Lots of rainwater will provide nourishment as well. Keep in mind there are several fertilizers to choose from. It all depends on the type of grass you grow.

Sometimes pesky underground pests that are not visible to the eye can cause damage to the grass roots, therefore purchasing the right product to rid your yard of pests will be very beneficial to your homes curb appeal.

Planting lots of flowers in the flowerbeds will attract butterflies and birds. Thus making your home a nice resting and feeding spot for nature's beings.

One rule of thumb, don't over extend yourself so you don't feel overwhelmed. Simple tasks involve cleaning out the flower beds, mowing the grass, fertilizing the yard. To do a complete makeover I would hire a professional landscaper. They know what is involved-man hours, expenses so please consult them for that big job. They even help with sprinkler systems.

Wishing all homeowners a nice and beautiful curb appeal.
