Here is what the market in Lamorinda looks like this week: Median home prices in Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda are really starting to stabilize and level, especially when you look at the trend lines over the last 90 days. As far as inventory levels, we really saw a spike in all 3 communities in June but inventory levels are beginning to level out again. What we always knew, is still true; homes that are priced well, are "move in ready" and in a great location will typically receive multiple offers.

Fed Tax credit breakdown | Federal Tax Credit update!

Just a reminder that to be eligible for the Federal Tax Credit buyers must close by Nov 30th. Given that date is quickly approaching, expect a flurry of activity in our industry in the near term.

There is one bill that is in committee with the aim of extending the credit, as well as allowing it for all Buyers, not just first time buyers.

Also, this bill would not have income limitations. The current Tax Credit had similiar details, but these were removed before final passage.

DANVILLE - Empire Realty Associates is a major sponsor of the 27th Annual Alamo Music & Wine Festival. This event will take place on Saturday, September 12th. Danville agents, Don Morton and Linda and Frank Cookson, are in charge of involving Empire this year. Together they have gathered several agents to help sponsor this event. All of the proceeds are donated to local schools and community charities.

In 2008, the Alamo Rotary rose over $50,000. This fun event is known as the Alamo Block Party which features all kinds of music beginning at 2pm with the marching bands of Monte Vista & San Ramon Valley High Schools, followed by several music groups throughout the day. The headliner, The Fabulous Cruise Tones, will feature music for dancing under the stars from 8pm to 11pm. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 8pm and feature selections from Faz, Forli's, Rotary BBQ, Don Jose's and The Peasant Courtyard, Alamo's newest restaurant. The Alamo Rotary Club will also present its Citizen of the Year.
