The county also has 4 private high schools and 8 private PK-8th grade schools. With so many school choices, it is easy to find a good family fit in Houston County GA.
Warner Robins is home to the Campuses of Georgia Military College, Macon State College (MSC), as well as MSC's Robins Residence Center and Middle Georgia Technical College.

About our Community
Houston County was created in 1821 through a treaty signed with the Creek Indians and is the 51st county formed in Georgia. The county is named for Governor John Houstoun and was originally spelled "Houstoun." Perry, the county seat and geographic center of the state of Georgia was incorporated in 1824 as Houston's first official town. Houston County has seen a dramatic population increase in the last decade and has a 2009 population of just over 126,000 people.
Warner Robins was initially called York, and was later known as Wellston. In 1941, the U.S. Air Force established a military depot in Wellston and the depot grew into Robins Air Force Base. RAFB covers 6,400 acres and is Georgia's largest single employer, providing an important economic boost to central Georgia. In 1943, Wellston was renamed Warner Robins. Both the Air Force Base and the city are named after Brigadier General Augustine Warner Robins.
Since 1968, the city has been officially designated "Georgia's International City" because of the diversity of the inhabitants.
Warner Robins is home to one of the top Air Museums in the country, the Museum of Aviation. This facility includes the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame as well as the Robert L. Scott Vistascope theater.
Warner Robins is also the Southeast Region Headquarters of Little League Baseball and Softball. The boys team won the LLWS in 2007 and the girls are reigning 2-time champs (2009-2010). Warner Robins is the only Little League to have won both a baseball and a softball Little League title.
Perry is the County Seat and is considered the crossroads of Georgia, dating back more than a century when the city was a major North - South stagecoach stop. It is also the home to the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter. This award winning facility hosts concerts, fairs, livestock events, sporting events, trade shows, and much more. The city also boasts a renovated downtown, the landmark New Perry Hotel, and is home to former US Senator Sam Nunn.
Centerville was incorporated March 25, 1958 and is a family friendly community with convenient shopping and dining. Centerville prides itself on working closely with its business partners.
Bonaire is an unincorporated area 2 miles south of Warner Robins. It is the hometown of current Governor Sonny Perdue.
Byron was incorporated in 1874 and is named after the poet Lord Byron. The city hosts an annual "Battle for Byron" fund-raising event and has many historic/interesting downtown sites to include an 1870 depot museum and caboose, renovated jail and jailhouse park, big peach antiques, as well as a classic car emporium.
Fort Valley is the county seat of Peach County and has been in existence since 1856. It's the largest peach producer in Georgia and the downtown area has undergone a restoration transformation in recent years. Some of the recently renovated properties are the Austin Theatre, old train passenger station, freight terminal, and the switching station.
Hawkinsville is the county seat of Pulaski County, was named after U.S. Senator Benjamin Hawkins, and is known as the "Harness Horse Capitol" of Georgia.
Jeffersonville is the county seat of Twiggs County and was named after President Thomas Jefferson. It became a city in 1828.
