Phoenix Real Estate Bananas - What?
Since I'm fairly new to the ActiveRain Community, I've had quite a few people wonder what the Banana thing was all about. They've been asking me questions and some leave me comments on my posts. How did it get started? How is it working? Do you wear those suits all the time? You seem to have lots of fun! You make me smile! If I were moving to Phoenix I'd hire you!
I started thinking about the best way to answer the buzz was to send the link to an article I wrote for CRB Management Issues and Trends last fall. I figure this ought to get the word out that yes, we appear funny, but we are committed to the highest level of service and professionalism.
Our company does have a rather unique advertising and marketing approach which works well and gives people a lot to smile about! We've gotten some kidding from other real estate companies and agents, but hey, we're fine with that because we know it's working! You be the judge! Would you hire a Banana to represent you or your clients, friends and family? I believe you would if you understood our level of committment and dedication to our clients best interests.
This picture was taken at the Children's Phoenix Hospital Fundraiser at Costco. The event raised over $3M between the Costco stores supporting the event in Phoenix. The two darling girls are the daughters of clients of mine that I've had the opportunity to watch grow up since they were babies. So sweet!
Thanks for reading about Anna Banana Realty of Phoenix, Arizona and getting to know more about us. I look forward to learning more about all of my friends and associates on Active Rain!
Sincerely,
Anna Banana

Friday Funnies - Boating Bananas on the Dolly Steamboat at Canyon Lake, AZ
I can almost guarantee you've never seen a bunch of bananas at the boat dock, have you?
If you've ever had the opportunity to take a ride on the Dolly Steamboat on Canyon Lake in Arizona you know how beautiful and serene an experience it is. If you've never taken a ride be sure to fit it into your schedule whether your are a local yokel or a visitor from out of town.
The day this picture was taken the Dolly Steamboat it was the Grand Celebration of the re-opening after being in dry dock for 6 months. Dolly Kennedy, the lovely lady at the helm, asked me if I'd please bring the Bananas out to be Ship Ambassadors. Now that was an offer a sane Banana couldn't resist! There were all kinds of celebrities and visiting dignitaries and naturally we fit right in with that group. Well ok, we didn't exactly look like everyone else but we were well received and everyone had a delightful time together on the two hour cruise around the lake.
So when you come to Arizona give us a call in advance and perhaps we can all go on a Dolly Steamboat ride together. And.....you can even be an Honorary Banana for the day!

How Much Home Can I Afford in Phoenix?
Prequalifying for a home loan is an excellent first step in the home-buying process. I hightly recommend that this is your first step in the home buying process.
Advantages of getting prequalified
▪ Knowing how much home you can afford can help you focus your house hunting.
▪ Being prequalified can demonstrate to a seller that you're serious and ready to buy.
▪ Completing the final mortgage application will go faster, since you've already provided much of the required information.
How to prequalify for a mortgage
You can save yourself time in the prequalification process by preparing some information before you get started:
▪ Type of home and approximate price
▪ Type of loan you want
▪ How much down payment you plan to make
▪ Personal information (name, phone number, address, date of birth)
▪ Social Security number
Comparing fees
Closing costs, or the fees you pay to get a loan, can amount to hundreds or thousands of dollars. They generally total about 1 to 2 percent of the total cost of the home. They include fees that your lender charges, including points, and also various third-party fees. You can potentially save yourself a lot of money by taking the time to compare the fees before signing on with a particular lender.
Some typical lender fees
▪ Appraisal
▪ Credit report
▪ Inspection
▪ Processing
▪ Underwriting
▪ Administrative
Some typical third-party fees
▪ Escrow
▪ Document preparation
▪ Title insurance
▪ Notary
▪ Attorney
▪ Recording
Prequalifying generally takes very little time. You may be able to complete the prequalification form online or over the phone. Most lenders will check your credit prior to making a prequalification offer.

Tribute to a Great Guy: Dennis Fermaint
There are some people that light up a room when they walk in. Dennis Fermaint was one of those guys. He always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell and and an infectious laugh. You could tell he was always 'cooking' up some trouble! And I mean that in a good way. He was a great team player in our office and an excellent REALTOR.

We are all going to miss Dennis. Not only was he an excellent real estate agent but he was a loving, kind family man. His family meant everything to him. He took care of his parents, kids and grandkids in anyway that was possible. Always helping, always available.
Dennis got sick in 2008 and he tried everything he could to overcome his issues. Thru out his courageous battle he never lost his sense of humor. Just awhile or so ago he emailed me with some silly, funny remarks. And he said he'd see us all in April when he came back to Phoenix for a visit. I guess that means he's going to join our sales meetings via heaven. I'll know when he's around cause there will be teasing going on for sure. He was good at that! And we all loved it!.
His office is still empty just waiting for the right guy/gal to fill his big shoes and heart. Every time I look in his office I still expect him to be laughing with somebody on the phone. It will be a happy, productive office for the right person cause he's still there in spirit.
Dennis.......we going to miss you buddy! You are and always will be our favorite Platino Banana!

How Many Phoenix Houses Does One Need to Sell to Dance With a Shark?
April in Phoenix, Ariz., means Maricopa County Fair time! I know most states around the country have their county fair in the summer, but not here in Phoenix, given our H-O-T summer months.
This year, the County Fair has all kinds of great exhibits, shows/concerts, rides, contests and the one that caught my eye on a morning show ... a Shark Exhibit! This is not something one sees in the desert very often so it's a MUST see for young and old.
Live Shark Experience - Exhibit features a 5000-gallon aquarium filled with sharks, as well as an educational and interactive exhibit, The Great White Encounter. Children, as well as adults, can experience what it would feel like to be in a cage surrounded by sharks, and even step inside the giant jaw of the ancient Great White. Watch while a nurse
shark named Loretta dances and interacts with a diver.
So here's the deal... we've got a contest going in our office to see who might be able to take Nurse Loretta's job and do some dancing with the shark. How many houses does one have to sell to dance with a shark? And just want kind of outfit would a banana wear to dance with a shark? These are the important questions we're all pondering today as we move thru our spring fever shark attack.
Click here for Maricopa County Fair Schedule and Information
So if you'll be in Phoenix April 15 thru the 19th be sure to visit the county fair. It's a real taste of small town living in a big city. Sure to be fun for all ages!
See you at the County Fair!
