Are You Ready For Some Football?!?!?!?!
Do you love football? Are you a New England Patriots fan?
If you live in the Portsmouth NH area and are looking for some Super Bowl fun for this coming game on Sunday, Feb 3rd, there are lots of options for you! How great is that?!?!?
I read an article recently that was talking about the cost going to the Super Bowl this year, and they compared that cost with the cost of the median home in some states back in 2000, per the US census. That median price was $133,000. Did you know that you, and 9 of your closest dearest friends could go to the Super Bowl this year, and watch the game in style in one of the luxury boxes for just a mere $30,000 more?
A little too rich for your pocketbook? It certainly is for mine! Another article I read said that you could find, if you were lucky, tickets for seats on the 50-yard line for $8,500 to close to $20,000, or end-zone tickets for about $5,000 each. Hmmm, that's still pretty steep for most people, including me.

So, how about sticking closer to home here in the NH Seacoast area? Hang out with friends and family, or head out to one of the variety of places around the area that offer multiple TVs to catch the game on.
Here are some choices for you:

Enjoy the Super Bowl, and GO PATRIOTS!!!! ....Just in case you were wondering who I'm rooting for.... ;-)

The 15th Annual Greater Portsmouth Region's Best Businesses for 2007 winners were recentlyl announced.
Portsmouth has so many wonderful businesses all around the region, and for there to be only one "Best" in each category ever year in this survey is difficult to choose.
Want to know the 'best' businesses in Portsmouth?
A survey was conducted by GKM Independent Survey Co. throughout the Seacoast region for small businesses in the area, and some of the 2007 first place winners in each category are listed below:

For the Seacoast Region's best real estate office, the company I work for, RE/MAX Coast to Coast, was chosen! This is our thrid year in a row to win this honor, and we're thrilled as can be!
The real estate industry in the Seacoast area is very competitive, so for us to have won the region's number one choice means a lot.
This is a sampling of the region's best or favorite businesses. Congratulations to all the "Portsmouth Region's 2007 Best Businesses"!

Here we are again in Portsmouth New Hampshire, getting hit by ANOTHER snowstorm!
At this point, none of my clients who've relocated here this past year are believing what I told them when I first started working with them when they'd ask about how much snow we generally get here in the Seacoast each winter - and after the snow we've already had so far this winter, I can see why they're wondering!
Until yesterday, we had bare ground with just spotty patches of snow here and there, and of course the snow hills that had been piled up in parking lots around town. But nice bare ground, which was VERY nice to see!
REALLY - we really do get far less than this on average each winter! And just to prove that point, the snow budgets in the towns around me are pretty much spent, and we still have a couple more months to go in which we could get even more snow.
Our snow budget here in Portsmouth NH only has about 15% left of the total amount that was budgetted for the WHOLE winter, and that wasn't taking into account what will be spent on today's storm.
I had an email the other day from a client I sold a lovely home to in Stratham NH. She started off by teasingly commenting that she knew meteorologist was not part of the job of being a great REALTOR.........
Predicting snowfall is more art than science, and you can only go by what's happened historically. This is proving to be a less-than-normal winter in most of New Hampshire this year. Here in Portsmouth, we've already had about 3 feet of snow, today will add about another foot to that total, and who knows what the rest of the winter months of Jan, Feb., and March may bring us. We typically don't have that much in an entire winter's worth of snow!
The 1st picture above was around 7:30am this morning, and the 2nd picture was taken about noontime - piles of snow on top of my birdfeeders, and it's still snowing, just not as heavily as in the first pictures I took this morning. As of about 12:15pm, the news is showing that we have gotten about 10 inches of snow here, with some more still to fall before this storm moves off the coast.
Global warming???? I'm thinking that philosophy might need to be revisited just a bit........
